Looking at jumping up from the 29" model to this for my game rig. Anyone have any input on the model or similar (this version has the 3 year warranty). I want nothing to do with samsung though and looking for $750 or less.

LG 34um67 is $500 at frys this week. I love it! Freesync is great if you have AMD card.

Can't use Paypal at Frys the 90s bastards. Isn't that a 1 year warranty monitor anyway?
Using a 290x card though.

OMG. you are right. It is 1 year warranty. Getting a squaretrade warranty right now!

I'm using a 290x as well. Freesync is supported on it. Besides the 1 yr warranty. I'm still in love with this monitor.

Looking through the first page of the anandtech review I hit the specs. The resolution is the same 2560x1080 I currently have on the 29". I was looking for crisper and taller realestate. Wasn't really looking to stay at the same resolution.

I like 1080 because I don't know if my 290x will be able to handle 1440 as well as I would like it too.

I have the LG 34UM95 (3440x1440) and a single 290x runs most games fine on it. I use 2 x 290x CF though to make sure all games can be run at the highest settings. For those able to afford only one 290x for a 1440p monitor I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Specs
2560 x 1600 (DVI)
4096 x 2160 (HDMI;DP)

Now if it can handle it is another story.

Pretty much all I needed to hear. Anyone know how to tell the version on the box?

I meant gaming wise. If I could play at settings that are adequate. I don't want to have to turn everything on low to play games on 1440p.

So freesync is for amd correct? Eventually my aging 290x is going to need to be replaced and I may just be jumping ship to go back to nvidia. Had a 5870, 7970, now the 290x. Last nvidia cards were dual 9800gtx's. It all depends on pricing of the card and water components.

So what does freesync mean for nvidia cards?

Nothing really, I have the LG 34UM67 with a GTX 970 right now, the monitor still works at 75hz, just no FreeSync functionality.

Did notice the 34UM57 is the 3 year version 67 is the 1 year. Again though only 1080P. I wish there were stores that actually had these setup so I can justify the extra for 1440p.

I really was displeased going from a Acer 27bmii something or another to the LG 29UM65. The width was nice but the crushed down verticle is not appealing which is why I'm looking at the 34" but the question is for future proofing is it worth the extra several hundred for the 1440p. Is my single 290x enough to push the full resolution for a year or so.

I'm not a avid gamer. TBH I haven't powered it on to play a game since I upgraded it about late Sept last year. It's only been powered up to keep steam updated and install the new bundlestars and humble bundle things I pick up. Along with keeping MWO updated. Which is all I was playing previous to my 7970 dying.

I work from home as my disabled fiances care taker so I have a whole house, yard, animals, my two daughters, the vehicles, and my fiance to take care of. My game time consisted of about 10:30pm-midnight or so. Since my computer was down upgrading it after the gpu crapped out I've gotten on a kick of catching up on tv shows. Currently on season 6 of ER. lol I worked all the time when it was airing so I missed alot.

Another thing is I'm just not happy with the lowered vertical real estate of the 29". So that could partially be why I haven't fired it back up for gaming.

I suppose if I future proof to the 94-p I can always downscale the res to the 1080p if my 290x causes too much ghosting etc and increase the res when I get a newer card.

Anyone know anything in the works for 34" 1440p but in the 144hz zone?
I've always had monitors that are 65-75hz 5ms and never notice any ghosting etc. Then again not getting that 1440p res though so that could play a factor.

Hmm watching a 34um94 on ebay that is used for $400 right now 3 year square trade of $89.99 brings it to under $500 there is one bidder. Just checked ncixus where I got a smoking deal on my 29" and they have the 34UM67-p (1 year version) for $463 shipped. If I add a square trade to it of 3 years $89.99 that puts it right at $550. Problem is the NCIX deal ends today and they don't have stock so it's on back order.

Strongly looking at the 34um57-p It's the same as the previously mentioned Freesync 67-p but has the 3 year warranty so the extra ST purchase isn't necessary. For the same price as the Frys deal that was mentioned.
I'll hold off on pulling the trigger for another day or so and watch the $400 94-p on ebay to finalize my decision.

Couple questions for you.
How long have you had your 34UM67? What games are you regularly playing on it? What does the windows font and browsing look like on it?

It's the same native res as my monitor now but it has the extra real estate vertically is why I'm asking. I have my eyes on a sub $453 34UM67 but I have to contact them and have them input more in stock I can't place an order right now. Just wondering while I'm waiting to get in contact with them if I should gear back to a 1440 version or not.

I think I've made up my mind. I'm just going to wait for the Acer XR341CK to drop some in price or gain more competition with other manufacturers releasing 3440x1440 Freesync monitors. If I have to downscale the monitor for the time being when I get it to 2560x1080 that's fine since I'm already running that res. I just can't stand the fact Fat Albert sat on the top of my 29UM65 I want the verticle real estate I had with my acer s275hl bmii which is now on this computer (my daily).

is there something like this that exists with 144hz?

I'd love to see 34'' wide screen like super wide with 1440p or higher with 144hz @ 500$. I'd make it happen.

Fat chance in seeing it anywhere near $500 lol Maybe a broken model on ebay. :D

I've been looking at the LG 34um67-p myself, but I dont have an AMD card, I found a deal on tigerdirect for $499 and only $20 for overnight shipping, been wanting to jump to 34" Ultra, but couldn't figure out which 34umXX-p model to get.
