Blizzard trolls us with possibility of Warcraft 4

Turn Warcraft into a Baldur's Gate-style RPG and Diablo into a turn-based strategy and Starcraft into a third-person shooter :D.

Actually, ignoring the IPs mentioned in the article, with the popularity of Rocket League I'd love to see a modern take on Rock n' Roll Racing.

I'd like to see Blizzard come up with a different universe. It's like they have a drop down menu for classes..D3 expansion..Pally! New Wow expansion...Demon Hunter! (that tanks?)

I know the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it..but I personally want a different toy.

The downside is risk ... until people get tired of your universe the risk is lower to keep revisiting it as often as the consumers want you too ... even an established universe is not guaranteed a successful implementation ... Conan, Star Wars, LotRs, etc have all had problematic online or other game implementations ... New franchises are higher risk and you really have to invest in them for success ... for every Assassin's Creed or Portal you have dozens of failed titles

Blizzard does benefit from having three enormously popular universes with a lot of depth to each (Starcraft, Diablo, Warcraft) ... this is one reason they keep returning to them ... as an example of the risk of a new franchise look at Hellgate London ... it was done by former Diablo team members, had what sounded like an interesting universe and game concept, had many of the same grinding strategies of Diablo ... but it also failed horrendously

I dont want to see warcraft 4. It will be a horrible mess.

blizzard stopped being blizzard around 2005, before then every single product they made was the best.

I'm perfectly okay with Blizzard revisiting universes but changing basic gameplay. A Warcraft universe game but a dungeon crawling top down RPG? That would be amazing.

I could go for that as well ... I would also support a Diablo themed RTS ... I would love to send armies of some of the critters from D2 and D3 against an opponent :D

I want to be able to bring all 3 of my followers with me in D3, how cool would that be?

Overwatch? They have a new FPS / Lore / Universe in the works right now. It should be hitting Tech Alpha/Beta (not sure what they are calling it) within a few months.

Warcraft 3 never really took off because of the generic 3-D graphics at the time. I seen a professionals play StarCraft 3 for some tournament I'm like whatever....

I actually never liked Starcraft, any of it. But a new Warcraft that returns to the roots and avoids crappy 3d graphics would interest me. I loved WC1 and WC2.

Starcraft 1 is very similar to warcraft II.

I hated Warcraft 3 as an RTS, the hero's just ruined it for me. But the RPG maps and such were awesome with them, and Dota...

I would like to see a bit of a revisit to Warcraft 2's play and maybe some randomized map elements to keep the strategy unique and on the fly vs canned turning it into just mashing buttons fast.

It's really weird to see how successful Blizzard has become with 2 "forks" of Warhammer & Warhammer 40K. I applaud them for making amazing stories out of their own versions. There are strange parallels with them even though they've been totally divergent for a great number of years.

Please correct me if I've gone off on a wild tangent... It's been a while since I've read about the comparisons. :)

Overwatch is completely different from their other games. Doesn't look like a Blizzard game at all.

Overwatch is the exception. HotS uses characters from all their other games, and Hearthstone uses WoW lore. Overwatch seems like a Blizzard version of TF2 and definitely gonna give it a shot.

It's time Blizzard brought back Blackthorne. That game's premise was pretty cool.

It's interesting how people still make such statements when the counterpoint has been public for about 9 months.

Warcraft 3 is my favorite RTS because of the heros.

I hated it for a while, and stopped playing for a couple years. Eventually I reinstalled and WC3 RoC+dota allstars have become my favorite games of all time.

Rts gamers really need a fantasy rts game...I love futuristic but feel we haven't had a fantasy rts in ages

I've wanted a rock and roll racing remake for the longest time.
