Anyone still playing BF4 or is it dead?

Just wondering if it's worth buying now. If there's nobody playing it online then obviously, it's not worth buying.

P.S. Intended platform is PC.

You missed the Grand 2015 FPS genre crash. All the CoD and BF players started playing Paradox grand strategies in multiplayer now.

It is still played. Buy it on Origin, see if you like it. If you don't return it. View the Great Game Guarantee rules before though. Think you have a 2 day window.

me still playing it after almost two years now, jeez this game makes me feel old, still it has a strong player base I guess, is BF4 Premium on the cheap now? been waiting for a price drop on that too. Heck I got BF3 for free

I started playing BF4 again a couple of weeks ago since the player pool in Hardline has dropped off significantly for Hardcore.
I don't care to play normal mode if the game offers hardcore.
Most of the servers I play on are usually full most of the time.

I still play a few nights a week and have never had a problem finding a populated server. I think when Hardline first came out the players numbers dropped a bit but I get the feeling a lot of people switched back. From what I heard Hardline is pretty much dead already.

Yup! I play 5-6 hours a week...mainly 24/7 goldmund servers but I never have a problem finding a full 64 player server!

hell, I still play Battlefield Bad Company 2 and people are on that!

I bought BF3 and didn't like it - trying to hard to impress with "Realism", I prefer the cartoonishness of BC2 over BF3 and 4

my wife plays every day and switches servers constantly. Playerbase is still awesome

According to the stats it has an average of 29,000 players on peak which is still rather impressive after all this time compared to Hardline which is pretty much a dead game with less than 3000 people playing.

Moved over to cs go full-time. After learning the meta game and playing at higher ranks, it's hard to play any other fps. Competition is where it's at for me and bfbc2 was the last great bf imo. I was one of the players that was an advocate for prone, but after playing cs and bc2, prone is nothing more than a hindrance to the gameplay. I bet if they took out prone from both games it would make the game more fun instead of the usual camping in the grass and I'm a sniper I'm a sniper bullshit.

Think i have more playing time in the game than any other game to date. And i plan to keep playing till Batlefront arrives

I only see 3 servers with greater than 40 people in them. I only have regular battlefield 4.

The maps in Battlefield Hardline are so bad not sure if they were streamlined for console use there is this one map with broken buildings and garbage trucks and during team death match you have like 10 snipers on each team just taking pot shots at the other team cause the map is so small.
You do have grapple hooks in the game though which would be cool for the next Battlefield.

Yeah, most servers run some of the DLC content. Even if it's only one map in the rotation then people without Premium can't play on that server at all even if it's currently on a map they own. It's dumb.

What's worse is the people who only bought some of the DLC packs individually, they might own all the maps that a server runs but still can't play on that server if the server is designated as "Premium".

The good part is that the people using GameTime can't access any of the Premium/DLC servers. Which means the GameTime hackers can't play on the same servers as most of the current playerbase (i.e.: I avoid a bunch of hackers as a result of this policy .... I do wish they'd just end GameTime though)

It's actually quite smart on the part of the companies who are excellent at extracting money from people via DLC. Battlefield 4 was my last straw on buying into a game that uses a pay-to-play DLCs. I actually prefer BF3, but last I checked there are few servers for that too.

I still play on a regular basis. I started playing pretty much hardcore exclusive, which I find a lot more fun and challenging in some ways.

Maybe if Punkbuster would stop kicking me I'm reinstalling all my Battlefield games after installing Windows 10 Punkbuster keeps coming up not sure what the fix is.

Do you guys use keyboard or controller for BF4 of PC? I'm considering building a PC really just for BF4 and I was also curious if anyone plays it still.

console player here. Dont have time and resources to commit to pc gaming. Especially when it comes to buying a decent video card for gaming. That is the bottleneck in my case.
