AMD Fury X $529.99

i posted in the amd video section but thought i post here as well to get some insight on path forward

I received one email stating it was a price mistake and my order will be cancelled, but order was still showing "backordered", so emailed them twice and they confirmed twice that the order was cancelled. But lo and behold it shipped but at the 679 price. I emailed them again stating I don't want it and they still come back with the order has been cancelled and would not be charged but I have a pending charge on my cc.

I never dealt with a retailer taking a order, saying it a price mistake, then say it's cancelled and ship at a higher price without my consent.

Has this happen to anybody else?

edit: card has been delivered.

tigerdirect? well regardless, i would call your credit card company and fight the charge.

So...did they actually charge you the $679? If so, dispute it with your CC holder.

Email TigerDirect with the tracking number on the box delivered and give them a chance to make it right...if you haven't already done so. Probably just a case of human error coupled with a rookie at the other end.

Yup charged 679

I emailed them that it had been shipped which shows up on the order status but they responded with the order has been cancelled. I'll try again, maybe another CSR will have a clue

Dispute the charge and keep the card I say.

I emailed them again with the tracking number, I'll see what they say...

I went through the exact same thing with some "cheap" memory back in the Q6600 days. I took the exact approach as you did with explaining that I had canceled the order multiple times when they explained to me that it was a price mistake. They explained that the charge on my CC was a hold initiated by them, but to not worry because they had canceled the order. Even had it escalated to a manager to make sure it was handled properly.

5 days later via the slowest shipping known to man, I was the proud owner of 8GB of Corsair DDR2, an Nvidia NForce motherboard, a soundcard, and a Q6600. Yep, TigerDirect has the most competent customer service reps in the game. I think they did offer to knock something off the price so I kept it. I KNOW I didn't want to drive for 2 hours to take it to the nearest Fed Ex / UPS store to send it back. And well it was so shiny.
