Didn't see a thread for this (but don't shoot me if I missed it), so....

1. Took 4 attempts to install. 2 hours on hold with Microsoft. 3 times Installed, could not activate, rolled back. Repeat twice. Finally had to wipe out machine, install 8.1 fresh, then install 10. Success.

2. PowerPDF Advanced. Version 1.0 seems to work. Version 1.1 does not. After installing 1.1 it will no longer launch, and the windows explorer process will randomly recycle itself.

3. Though it installs drivers for the Creative Z card, it sets default audio to the HDMI audio in the AMD card.

4. Printer support worse than Windows 8. All my printers were covered under 8. Under 10, only 1 was (Brother 4150CDN).

That's it. for now :)

I'm pretty sure I just installed the 8.1 drivers for my printer and it was fine.

If there was not a current W10 driver available, I used a 8.1 driver. And I had zero driver issues across four different custom PC's.

I'm seeing a trend where there are no issues if you go from a fresh 7 or 8 install to 10. I had a fresh 7 on my laptop and upgraded with no issues, then wiped and did a clean install. Win 10 install was less that 10GB :)

Server 2012E Client Connector.

Will not install on Win 10 via server/connect command. Fails install after download.

FIX:

New client connector available for download:

Resolution (Undated on 29/07/2015):

The Client Connector for Windows 10 to connect to Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials has been released.

Download from here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/arch...erver-essentials-for-supported-client-os.aspx

Links near bottom of blog entry.

Note:

- The Client Connector needs to be manually downloaded and installed on the Windows 10 Client OS. Once the installation is completed follow the steps listed below,

- Click on Start, All Apps

- Scroll down till "Windows Server Essentials", expand and run "Windows Server Essentials Connector Configuration Wizard".

This is a known issue and the fix on the server is being targeted to be released tentatively in October 2015.

Once the fix is patched, then there will be no user intervention required, all the downloading, installation and configuration will be automatically carried out

- With the release of Windows Server 2016 Essentials, all client connector software will be available and no user intervention will be needed.

Canon MX850 - Canon's site says non needed or not available. There are NO drivers in Windows 10. May try Win 8.1 later.

Same for Canon Pro9000.

Brother 4150CDN Laser seems ok.

Not sure about Dymo yet. Next on list.

What the hell does it mean when something is shown as working fine, but still has a question mark on it?

The alarm on my tablet didn't work this morning which caused me to be late for work. I did some research and found a suggestion to toggle the alarm on and off so hopefully that helps.

So far I'm enjoying Win10. I have noticed a rather annoying habit though and have not found a way to fix it. When I open File Explorer and Edge they always open in the same place...they don't remember their last location. I always like to have my browser open on my left monitor and File Explorer in the lower right of my right monitor, but in Win10 File Explorer always opens in upper left corner of right monitor and Edge always opens in middle of right monitor.

I have Firefox and it seems to remember its last location when it was closed...same with Steam. Office apps all open in last used position, so does Winamp, and Calculator. Only seems to affect File Explorer and Edge that I've noticed so far.

Anyone else notice this? Anyone know of a fix?

Edge will always open in a new position, sadly. IE had that problem from Windows 95 through all versions till Vista came out, through 7-8-8.1 and now all the sudden it's forgetting itself again and it's one of those things I can't stand about 10 so far. Perhaps Microsoft will fix it with a patch soon. Explorer seems to stick for me so far, but Edge, always in a different place which is damned infuriating.

only 2 real problems for me so far.

1. forced driver install. even though i have the option disabled to download and install new drivers, its still nagging me to install the drivers.
you know what? fuck you and your realtek drivers. theyre considerably worse than the 4 year old default drivers im running.

2. color calibration keeps resetting when i launch/minimize/exit an app. i dont know if this is an nvidia or MS problem.

edge is slow on sites with lots of flash (slashdot for instance, and [h] homepage). Gonna be using chrome until there is some type of flash click to play, or per site setting. But overall seems to be working well for a new OS release, especially considering I had tons of problems with TPs as recent as 10176, including explorer not showing folders, or taking forever to load a folders contents, chrome crashing, start menu not showing selected folders, etc. none of that in rtm for me.

3 home computers and one I'm setting up to sell and everything working as good as 8.1 did .. epson wireless all-in-one working as well as a cheapo monochrome Pantum wireless printer .. I'm still using Chrome over Edge though

Similar issue. Some control panels refuse to open anywhere but on my left (out of 3) monitor. Unfortunately that's the one my laptop also drives so it gets covered up.

You can position it all you want. It won't remember it.

How I got my Canon MX-850 working:

1. Downloaded MX-850 Win 8.1 driver package.
2. Unzipped file.
3. Right clicked on each .ini file and installed (scanner, fax and printer).
4. Plugged in printer.
5. Windows installed printer successfully.

I have two PCs failing to upgrade, one do to "your wireless card doesn't meet upgrade requirements" which is very frustrating because I've tried other wifi cards and get the same message and so far nobody has any explanation why I get this error. Microsoft just points me to the official system requirements for Win10 which say NOTHING about why a wifi card is or is not supported.

The second is a Lenovo T61 with a T7500 cpu and a motherboard that both support NX but Windows 10 is convinced it doesn't support the feature. And yes, it is enabled under the security tab in the BIOS, and I am running the newest BIOS.

Also, if you use a VPN, and that VPN uses NAP, you are FUBAR on Win10 because MS removed NAP support from it. Your computer will be quarantined and prevented from remote access.

I've updated and rolled back 5 times now. Windows 10 will not activate - even though I know have a genuine copy of 7. It just gives me an Error 0xC004C003: Product key has been blocked.

What a waste of my time. 7 does everything I want, so I don't know why I bothered...

A friend of mine had this issue... he left it overnight and the next day it was activated. MS said it can take 24-48 hours because their activation servers are getting hammered right now. I don't know how long you let it go but if you haven't you might want to give it some time and see what happens.

I gave it about 24 hours. I kept hammering "slmgr /ato" through cmd as well.

I'll mess with it again in a few weeks. I'm burnt out for now.
