AMD has also released new Catalyst 15.7.1 Windows 10 drivers for Radeon owners that have migrated to Windows 10 already.

The AMD Catalyst™ Software Suite, AMD Catalyst™ 15.7.1 highlights:

  • This driver provides support for Windows® 10 as well as full WDDM 2.0 and DirectX® 12 support which is available on all AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) products, - AMD Radeon™ HD 7000 and newer graphics products.
  • VSR provides image quality enhancements to games and Windows® desktop users by rendering images at a higher resolution and then down-scaling the same.
  • FRTC allows the user to set a maximum frame rate when playing an application in full screen exclusive mode. This feature provides the following benefits:
    • Reduced GPU power consumption
    • Reduced system heat
    • Lower fan speeds and less noise
  • AMD FreeSync™ and AMD CrossFire™ can now be used together in applications using DirectX® 10 or DirectX ® 11. Please note, this feature is currently not supported on systems configured in AMD Dual Graphics mode.

The last 3 were in the 15.7 driver released a few weeks ago. The only thing new in 15.7.1 is the 1st bullet. ;)

I'll have to try this when I get home. 15.7 makes Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom crash if GPU acceleration is enabled. I could actually get into Lightroom to turn it off, but Photoshop crashes before I even get a chance. I didn't see anything in the release notes about it, but hope springs eternal...

use DDU to remove the drivers, open photoshop to disable, reinstall drivers.

Anyone has issue with this driver? I lost sound from my monitor which connect thru display port. I got sound with 15.6.

I installed this right after a Windows 10 update. After reboot, one screen showed a frown face saying something went wrong while the other screen had garbled artifacts.

The box rebooted on its own and came up cleanly. Control center claims the drivers have been installed and everything is OK  Haven't tried gaming yet, nor lightboost.

try changing the defaut output in the sound panel, then changing it back.

my xfi keeps changing to the wrong output every boot.

Yep tried that. Mine does remember which one I set as default output. I do have sound on others, but just not with the monitor speaker. Reversed back to 15.6, it works. Put it back to 15.7 or even 15.7, the monitor speaker sound is gone again.

My bootup process hangs at a black screen with just a mouse pointer for a good 30-45seconds before the login screen is displayed whenever I have CCC installed... anyone else experiencing this?

unplug any USB devices including the mouse and see if it continues.

same issue on my system

Yep, I have the same thing. Looks like a few guys at overclock.net are having the problem as well.

I've logged the issue with AMD Support, but I'm not holding my breathe for a response. I hate that this is happening, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. With many of us having this problem, hopefully AMD will provide a fix soon.

I just want mining performance back, as I game of course but still GPU scrypt mine and generally anything beyond 13.6beta2 drivers and SDK 2.6 mining performance is less and tried 15.7 other day and it locks up graphics card constantly, so to me game performance is obviously a great thing to have, but "breaking" performance or stability in things such as mining, or mouse cursor going all wonky is not good.

13.6beta 2 on my lil 7870 is mostly stable, but even then is nowhere near as stable or "quite" the game/mining performance that cat 12.8 or 12.4 give the speed drop and generally instability with newer drivers simply is not good, am hesitant to even bother trying 15.7.1 as 15.7 is "broken" for me compared to 14.12 which itself while gaming performance in old and new games is great, mining performance and stability suffers drastically.

I know AMD is a small team compared to direct competition, however, fixing things to break others does not confidence make and I am bar none a proud AMD user and supporter and will continue to be (well unless Zen bombs for CPU wise) I still love Radeon graphics.

Happened once during the install process of the new driver, but afterwards everything was fine for me. Don't know if the following helps, but I installed Win10 via the DVD ISO method, then installed the driver.

This is anecdotal and I do not have frametime graphs to back this up, but crossfire appears to be much smoother under Win10 than in Win8.1. I ran Firestrike ultra which had a lot of stuttering under win8.1. In Win10, the framerates were still in the 20's and 30's, but it appeared much smoother even though I would expect stuttering with such a low framerate. This is with crossfire 290s.

I have had no problems with GTA5 but I cannot get Dirt 2 to play right. Every time I go to leave the trailer the game crashes. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled with no luck. I have seen an increase in fps in Shadow of Mordor. I no longer have to enable crossfire just to maintain 60fps with ultra preset turned on. I am really starting to like window 10 and this driver.

Anyone having BSODs with this driver? Has been a nightmare with my work PC so far, which sports a HD6950. I'm getting some IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSODs, and after debugging, the culprit seems to be an ATI driver file, more specifically "atikmdag.sys". I've decided to disable the card, and uninstall the catalyst drivers. Running on integrated graphics, and have not run into issues. Performance has taken a hit, however.

My home rig with xfire 280x's is also having some issues with microstutter, especially when I'm trying to play Anno 2070, or CSGO.

What cards do you have? Did you install the HD texture pack (it was a ~3GB DL IIRC) for SoM? I know you said your FPS went up, but does the game feel "smoother"?

I am running XFX R9-290A-EDFDs and I didn't download the HD texture pack. The only addons I have is all the DLC. The game actually feels the same. I have both vsync and frame cap turned on and set to 60. When running the benchmark it says my lowest fps in 59.

If you aren't running 10, why update to this driver?

I also have the black screen for almost a minute before the login screen appears after updating to these drivers.
