Batman Confronts Superman In New Dawn Of Justice Trailer

Even though she plays a small role, I am looking forward to Wonder Woman in this movie. I want to see her more though, and I've heard its just going to be a small role.

This movie would be perfect but Ben ruined it for meh.

Uh did you miss Jesse Eisenberg? The one face, one impression character who has caused loathing ever since I had the misfortune of seeing him play Zuckerberg in the FB movie.

Who is supposed to be good and who bad in this movie?

Superwonderbatman is good. Lexerberg is bad.

There are better choices for wonder women and what is the point of having her there in a batman vs superman movie

Glad I a not the only one that just thought, wtf is up with that long hair guy.

The fat batman, that suite is just too insane

I guess Batman is just fatter in this one

The design inspiration is from "The Dark Knight Returns."

It's supposed to help setup a Justice League film. WB/DC is eyeing what Disney/Marvel have done.

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman is basically DC's big trinity. Green Lantern they probably wanted to avoid due the negative stigma from the previous movie. Flash really would have been the only other option.

I don't understand why DC went with an older Batman for this. It doesn't make sense. And the movie is only superficially based on The Dark Knight Returns, so don't reply to me with that. The intention is to make a shared cinematic universe with crossover the way Marvel has, meaning the actors will be expected to reprise their roles for several years to come. So DC looks at this and says "Yep, better make Batman old"? Come on.

Ben Affleck is only a year older then Christian Bale...don't see how this new Batman is supposed to be seen as much older...he actually looks younger then Bale

I see a lot of people in different places bashing Batman and his "bulky" suit. Actually there have been several times in the comics where he puts on some sort of powered suit. It's been used for when his normal suit still isn't good enough and the foes is extra powerful.

I already know the plot just by watching the trailer.

General Zod either get resurrected or his power is somehow harnessed. You can see them dragging his dead body in a body bag in the trailer.

Luther then basically turns Wonder woman, Superman, and Batman against each other while having the Zod-ish whatever it is in the mix. They fight only to realize they are retards which should be teaming up with each other. The Zod thing only grows in power so they all team up for a final battle to defeat it. The end.

Lex Luthor is played by the tree hugger hippie guy from an episode of Modern Family. Interesting choice.

Chances are Luthor will use Zod's body to figure out Kryptonian's are susceptible to kryptonite.

It's the 5 o lock shadow. What? looks young, add a bit of grizzle! DONE!

There are currently two theories, Lex uses his DNA to grow or Zod becomes, Doomsday.

The second is bizzaro Zod.

Wow, bad selections for the Lex Luther and Wonder Woman roles. There are plenty of actors and actresses who could fit those better.

That is what I think will happen too. It'd be cool if one of the good guys died for good.

why are so many people down on Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor??...I think he looks great in the role...when he was initially cast I was skeptical but his scenes in the trailer were pretty cool and his bald Lex look for the movie looks even cooler...

Because a lot of people demand an alpha male villain, and he's about as beta as beta gets. He doesn't look or sound like a leader type, but I think that was the point. He's reimagined as more of a clever techie with a bad attitude which is different than people are used to for that character, but is actually more relevant IMO.

Michael Rosenbaum wasn't your typical 'alpha male villain' and he did a really good job as Lex on Smallville (TV show)...the show itself was too soap opera-ish and corny but Lex was one of the best parts of that show (along with Lionel Luthor)...sometimes people need to think outside the box and the casting of Eisenberg is a perfect example of this

Well, if that's the case, instead of black armor he should strap a whole bunch of black babies to himself, that way if Superman tries to harm him not only is there the moral issue of killing babies, but its a PR nightmare to boot as he's now super racist.

Well, Man of Steel threw out Superman's morality. So, this wouldn't work.

It's got a Watchmen feel to it. I think that is why. I will be seeing this day one.

Exaaactly. Doesn't even have to be ALPHA MALE bro, just not nerdy mcnerdenstein.

They may as well get McLovin to play ZOD, it would make as much sense.

I've just gotten tired over the years of film-makers making the super-hero you go to see, not a hero in the eyes of the people or the hero himself acting all "I don't want to be a hero any more".

Michael Keaton's Batman tried to give it up, then Val Kilmer's Batman was all wish-washy about being the Bat, Christopher Reeves' Superman gave up his powers to be with Lois Lane, Batman was made to look like the bad guy in The Dark Knight at the end, Bruce Wayne had given it up in The Dark Knight Rises, Spider-Man is always made to look like an unknown in the public's eye even though he always does good things, Tobey McGuire's Spider-Man kept whining about being Spider-Man, the X-Men are just seen as mutants, the Hulk is the Hulk, the Avengers were made to look like outlaws in Age of Ultron.

Now in this Batman vs Superman movie, opinions on Superman seem to be split and it seems like the majority of the movie is going to be a bunch of people telling Superman they don't want him here.

I think I was spoiled being a child in the early 80s when you watch the Superfriends and the Batman and Robin cartoons. Good guys were seen as good guys. I know it's not just the movies; the comics have turned away from the "goody" aspect too. I didn't read it, but I hated the whole idea behind Civil War. I always thought Marvel took the mutant thing too far as well.

Well, in the last film Superman murdered thousands of people with the collateral damage he caused with one of his fights.

Honestly, this is on the filmmakers for not getting the character right. Superman would have moved the fight out of the city. He also wouldn't have done what he done in the end to Zodd. Never.

So, I do agree with you to some degree, but only when the source backs you up.

Batman, Spiderman, Hulk, and the X-men were all "conflicted" heroes in their source material. So, those films are getting that part right.

Call me a pessimist but if there was a superman the government that couldn't control him would pretty much do what we saw on the trailer (and a ton of other movies). Heck in the real world other governments would be up in arms that he would be a new super weapon for the US (red blue truth justice and all that). Superman would be the biggest anti-US rally tool than anything they have today.

I would guess most normal people would see him as a hero but that would diminish as the media and political posturing starts and the pundits and their rabid followers spot crap they didn't think about just what they heard.. We see it every day in practically EVERY major opinion for debate these days... Superman would be no different. I actaually thought the quotes in the trailer to be probably exactly what would happen... "Superman could destroy the world"

All that said...

I really hope they pull it off, but when are these filmmakers going to learn that too many characters is TOUGH as hell to pull off.

Marvell has a number of movies to get characters time to build... This movie has Superman and could have Batman. Though it looks like we will see yet ANOTHER origin of Batman. I hope not cause its a waste of screen time.

We didn't even see Aquaman in the trailer.

So either some of the characters will be pointless like Rhino in Amazing Spiderman 2 or they will just have a mishmash of all these plot strings and it will be a let down.

Ew, that Lex from Smallville was so annoying, I wanted to punch him in the mouth every time. I guess that's what they were going for though, eh? Seems like the same direction on this casting choice as well. I don't recall having those feelings about Hackman. So which is more like the comics? Tough charismatic leader or nerdy sensitive crybaby?

While I agree with twonunpackmule and dandirk, on the conflicted heroes and how the government and world would see a "superman", that's just not what I want to see when I go to the movies to see characters I grew up reading about and wanting to see on the big screen. I want to see the good guy and bad guy going at it. And we just don't get to see that. Most of the movies spend so much time on the origin story or the character not wanting to be the character that all we end up with is about a 5 minute fight scene at the end in the character's suit.

And X-Men couldn't even see fit to put them in their costumes. I guess it's more realistic but that IS how we all grew up reading them.

I think you're over thinking things. I think Zod is used to figure out the vulnerabilities of Superman, either by virtue of him making kryptonite or finding it and testing it on him.

I did like the homage to "A Death in the Family" with the Joker writing on Robin's uniform (presumably due to him being dead)

Lex is generally an asshole... but that Lex seems more like a douche.

They're getting a bit over the top with trailers these days, I like to see the first (or teaser) trailer and leave it at that, movies like this I'm going to watch regardless of the trailer, as a such I don't want to be spoiled at all, like with the second Avengers movie, that whole intro bit with Ultron with the hammer would have been SUPER fucking hilarious if they didn't already show the entire damn scene in the trailer, the Hulkbuster armor would have been nerderection inducing level of awesome but nope I knew it was coming.

I mean this movie isn't supposed to be released until March 2016, do we really need trailers this far out?

I agree, in fact I've even seen whole plot twists revealed in trailers before, which totally pissed me off. I can't remember the specific movie examples, but I do remember recently with the last season of walking dead how the trailer for the show before the season started pretty much gave away the cliff hanger of the previous. Pretty damn stupid.

The new Terminator film gave away a reveal in the trailer which ruined the first half of the film because you just waited for it to happen.
