Wasn't exactly sure what to put in the title, but I guess some of it makes sense.

So I sold this guy a G3258 on 18th June of last month. Two days back (July 7th), this kid opens a dispute on me, claiming that I sent him a G3250 instead of a G3258.

So I'm not sure how the hell he came to that conclusion after like 20 days. I of course denied his refund request for $12 and told him that I bought it from another [H] member (back in decemeber 2014) who I'm pretty certain, can vouch for me.

So I responded with these details and even dug up the transaction ID of Paypal and where the note also said "Payment for G3258".

So this kid hasn't responded since 2 days now, and I'm not sure if I should escalate it to Paypal as yet or not.

It's actually good to see this guy's 101 positive heat as I can't wait to leave it a neutral or negative depending on the outcome. I expect the people I deal with to come to me first before doing anything like that as a gesture of courtesy and also to keep us bunch different than fleebay.

Hell, if this guy had some legit reason for why he needed the $12, I would have been more than happy to give it just like that as I'm not an unreasonable guy. However, morally speaking, the situation that he created is the good old BS that always happens once in a while.

I bet he hasnt replied because hes been in a car accident. Like the other 43 topics regarding buyers here.

oh god, i just sold that guy a bunch of stuff (4 processors and 32gb of ram). I hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the ass

gotta be careful and document your dealings well. solid video/photo evidence of what you're sending and it's conditon.

It doesnt matter. Once I sold a motherboard on ebay. It was in pristine condition. I took clear pics with professional camera and macro lens. Also took a video with the that days news paper proving it is legit. Then I sold it and the guys said it wouldnt work. After troubleshooting, I said ok fine return it back. It was returned with almost every single cpu pins bent. Like someone intentionally bent them. All the proof meant nothing. Paypal said they dont care pics or videos since then can be edited.

Wow. That must have made you feel great about PayPal.

It may not matter for paypal but it sure as hell matters for your reputation, and credibility on the forums.

Probably sent you his motherboard in place. I had the same thing happen to me except when I got the item back. It had a completely different serial number yet paypal still sided with the buyer.
