I finally managed to find the card I need for my build:

Palit GTX750Ti Fanless

The CPU for the build will be a... who the heck knows? With LGA Broadwells being a vapor launch I MIGHT wait for the LGA Skylakes, or I might just say the heck with it all and go 4790K.

The primary question is which 4K monitor will be a good fit for this video card? It's for a non-gaming workstation mostly used for web navigation, MS Office, and Photoshop.I have read that it's a difficult card to get working with HDMI, but I want 4K possibly 4:4:4 60Hz so we might have to use DP or ??? Any assistance would be appreciated.

For 60Hz highest quality, tt's DP only. The HDMI version of MAxwell 1.0 is 1.4a.

If you're building this to watch any videos, just know that the 750 Ti doesn't handle h.265 acceleration. It can handle h.264 at 4k, however.

That seems like an amazing monitor, but unfortunately I can't find it anywhere in Canada, including NCIX, NewEgg, and even Shopbot can't locate it. Do you know if the EA275UHD is available here?

OK, so I'll run the monitor from the card in DP. Anything specific I should know about the connection, cabling, drivers, etc.?

There is only one video I ever watch and it's a series I follow three times a week. It's h.264 and it's in Planar 4:2:0. The requirement I have for 4K high res is for my Photoshop work (and I like crisp images anyway.)

I've got 3 of these for my triple desktop. Best 30" 4K monitor on the market,

this Panasonic wasn't bad, but I prefer the cosmetic look of the Sony,

Lovely monitors but they cost about as much as my car. I'm sorry that I didn't specify earlier but let's keep the cost at $800 or below if possible. Thanks.

I've been using an Acer B326HK 32" at work for the last few months and it have serve me well.

The Acer S277HK, unreleased BenQ BL2711 and Dell P2715Q (680$ CAD from Dell currently) are the only worthwhile (24" 4k=pointless), non-TN (TN panels have very restrictive viewing angles and suffer from vertical gamma shift=uneven colours from top to bottom) 4k monitor available which falls under your budget. The Dell is fine, but you could spend a bit more and buy two 27" 1440p AHVA/IPS/PLS panels (recommendations, more information and review links) which will provide more usable pixel real-estate, bypass 4k scaling issues and be easier to use since you won't have to scale+re-size things nearly as much to take advantage of the pixel-real-estate.

Looks like a great monitor. Which would be the 27" version of the same monitor (to save a few bucks...)

Good, so it looks like it should be plug and play.

If you're looking for larger desktop real estate for work. Go for the 32". The font at 100% on a 27" will be quite hard to read even with perfect eyesight.

Thanks for the recommendations. I called Dell to see about ordering the P2715Q and was told that it wasn't available in Canada. So I asked about the much more expensive UP3214Q and was told the same thing. I had to argue with the agent and tell him that I have a friend who has a UP3214Q so they definitely ARE available here. He put me on hold forever and then came back with: "yes, both monitors are available in Canada..." Duh! Talk about being on the "earn while you learn" plan.

I've read some wonderful things about Win10 and a much easier and effective way to scale everything than in current OSs. Do you think that will be a reasonable alternative?

Win10 will scale better but the point is that if you have to scale up the fonts to read. you lose the extra real estate for work.
