BF 2142, Any community left?

Is there any sort of community still playing BF2142?

I'm thinking about reinstalling it but if there are no servers or whatever servers are there are mostly empty then I won't bother.

Xfire says there are only 395 xfire users playing the title.
 
There is a small but hardcore community left. I've played it from time to time , just play during the day .. at night there really aren't any public servers up.
 
I loaded up the game 2 weeks ago, there were 5 servers online, one of which was a 64. Played for a little before realizing I've just been away from the game too long.
 
2142 did not get the credit it deserved. It was much better than Battlefield 2. People just want their modern shooters :(

It wasn't better at all, just completely different. I agree it didn't get much credit, Titan was definitely something I enjoyed.
 
When the Northern Strike servers were up and full...hours of fun. Loved it. It's a shame it died out...the street fighting was awesome. I guess we all wanted jets and choppers lol. The 2142 gunships are hard to master...so few know how to fly and TV from that thing. Never saw maybe more than 10 people, besides myself ( :cool:) who could nail another gunship with a TV shot at a long distance.

BF2 still going strong, tho. Lots of good pilots there...;)
 
Does any one know if there is a Search server done by a 2142 community like in BF2? I got an itch to pwn some peeps with Voss :D

I loved the gunship in 2142...being able to fly it and use the TV missiles all by yourself was so much fun once you could master it. Such good times. I haven't enjoyed an online game since 2142 and I lost all respect for BF after it.
 
So the only way to play is with GameRanger? Does any one uses this service?

The kiddos and COD crossovers that play BF games these days would rage that that gunship and the soloing of TVs is "OP and needs nerf NAO cuz u just want to rain deth & farm killz unopposed". That's the mentality these when it comes to vehicles because so many people just want to play infantry and nothing else.

And because of that I don't see how BF will ever return to its former combined arms glory. Demographics have changed too drastically. Goldfish attention spans aren't compatible with the many hours required for the learning curves and mastery of vehicles and aircraft.
