Wasabi Mango UHD420 IPS 4k 42" Monitor

Well folks, it looks like there is new firmware update that now allows FREESYNC to work.

Basically, to update the firmware, follow darkproducers post on overclock.net.

Wooties on OCN just confirmed that it worked. I already ordered mine from Amazon.

42" 4K IPS glossy panel w/ Freesync for $800.

Fucking wow got one there amd!!

I'm currently eyeing the crossover 494k

The crossover 494k doesn't have freesync if that's a feature your interested in. The Wasabi Mango UHD550 also has the freesync feature now although that's a 55 monitor so it might be too big for you.

I also don't have amd though either :(

Me neither. Running a GTX 780. I'm going to wait a little bit to upgrade to an AMD card. Since I'm running ITX, I guess I'm going to need a dual GPU card like the R9 295x2 or the Fury X2 when it comes out.

Hoping someone confirms the input lag numbers on the 55 inch. Big 4k screen, PWM free, low lag, plus Freesync for 1300? Sounds like a winner to me.

Looks like pcper bought one and tested it.

the vrr range is 42-60Hz, not bad considering it's pedigree and off brand status.

I really wish pcper would at least talk about input lag in their "reviews". Honestly most of the reviews these guys do just doesn't look very in depth when compared to others like TFTCentral, they almost feel like overviews rather. Sometimes it seems like they don't even know the product very well when they discuss it, saying things like "uhhhh I think it's ____?" At least get the basic specs down before you start talking about it or take notes for it.

What is the best review for this?? The pcper?

I have a 4x ebay bucks cert that ends today. Really tempted to pull the trigger on the UHD420. Its $699 on eBay with $55 back in ebay bucks!

Really tempted.

Why Crossover 434k over WM420 ???

If everything was equal, specs and price I would go with Crossover since they have more experience making monitors, overclockable ones also. WM is relatively new in the monitor space and have made primarily tvs in the past. Not saying anything is wrong with WM, its just if everything is equal and its essentially a coin toss, I would lean towards better brand recognition.

yes same panel but different board inside, crossover doesn't use pwm.

I owned Philips 4k monitor for about 3-4 weeks but didn't like thew colors at all.
If Crossover has the same colors, i would never buy something like this
Now i'm using a Samsung 4k TV, i like it but there is an issue with the BIOS
After the latest software update, i can't access my BIOS / quick boot / F12 / etc

1) Philips is VA panel with PWM
2) Crossover 404K is VA panel (most likely same as Phillips) no PWM but extremely bright even at lowest setting
3) WM UHD420 is LG AH-IPS panel and was on the market for quite a while, starting with HDMI 1.0 version with external power brick and the most recent supporting HDMI 2.0, internal power and FW supporting FreeSync. No PWM
4) Crossover 434K and 494K, both using LG AH-IPS panels, just came out like less than a month ago, with 494 already screwed by not supporting HDCP 2. No PWM as well, same parts bin

WM has arguably slightly better build with aluminum bezel all around and being on the market with this particular panel longer could be a safer bet to buy. But I think at this point choosing between 434K and UHD420 is splitting a hair. I went for WM, no regrets so far.

So, you already own WM UHD420 ??
What about colors ?! Are they vivid ?
Ghosting ? Flickering ? Black looks " grey " ?
Please give more details about this monitor.
Thank you

Its sitting right next to an hp zr24w which is calibrated and has pretty accurate colors and I in no way would return this crossover based on just colors. Its a very good panel. No pwm, great response and low input lag, all for $500 is a steal imo. Oh and bios access :)

And there is another issue, apparently some Crossover 434/494 users suffer from flickering on DP input.

From my experience and reading the net WM does not seem to be affected by this phenomena.

Has anyone received dead pixels/dust particles, and what was the outcome of the dispute/return process?
