AMD Fury X In Stock thread

Fury has a full coverage block, not just a CLC

It's still a Closed Loop Cooler.

If somebody already has a loop then AMD's CLC is useless.

I'm in that boat...I’ve contacted several water block manufactures and asked if they would be offering a full block for the Fury X. No response yet :(

Edit: Koolance has gotten back to me, and said they will gauge demand for a full block before deciding if they will offer one.

Since the Fury X already has a liquid cooling system that (from all reports) works quite well, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to buy a Fury X, strip it of its liquid cooling system only to strap another one on. Unless money is no object, of course. If I were in that situation I'd wait for the plain Fury (non-X) version and water cool that. Or just modify your loop to cool your other components and use the Fury X as it comes.

The regular air cooled Fury will have lower performing chip I believe.

Will need to be confirmed, but if you want best performer, looks like the Fury X is the only choice.

4096 vs 3584:
$650 FX vs $550 F, +$100 (+18%) for 15% more shaders.
$550 290X vs $400 290, +$150 (+37%) for 10% more shaders.

With the Fury X you can 1% more shaders for every 1% in extra price. Effectively, you get a free water-cooler. After seeing the AIO on the FX, I'd say it's worth somewhere around $120-$150.
Considering binning and OCability, you actually get more performance per dollar with the FX than a 3584 SP Fury, plus the free AIO.

Why would anyone buy a cutdown Fiji?

4096 FX, 3840 F, 3584 Nano... Possible.

And I suppose you have facts to back up that assertion? Because Corsair warranties their Hydro series AIO coolers for five years and their Air Series & all fan products for only 2 years.
http://www.corsair.com/en/support/warranty

And CoolerMaster (the maker of the AIO cooler for the Fury X) states that the pump on their Seidon 120 AIO cooler should last 70,000 hours. That means even if you run your computer 8 hours a day, every day, 365 days a year you end up with an average lifespan of 24 years. Kinda puts that 10-15 year lifespan on your S-Flex to shame.

Keep your cheap S-Flex!

They were all two year warranty until very recently, probably hard to sell cooling products with such a short lifespan. And I don't care what kind of advertising CM uses to appease their customers.
I've seen enough failed pumps to know they fail on average around the 3-4 year mark. CLCs being made today might be more efficient but it remains to be seen. I prefer not to take risks on cheap hardware.

Whatever. Anything can fail for any reason. my h80 lasted longer than 2 years and that was long enough anyways.

While I would love to pickup a couple of these new "Rage Fury X" cards on Wed, I just cannot justify getting one when the 16nm cards will be out next year.

Unless there is a "Killer DX12" title coming out at the end of the year...no mas for me...

Hmm, my H60 is on 24/7 :S

Fan technology has increased greatly over the years. What started with simple sleeve bearings has evolved into mulitiple ball bearing, hydrodynamic fluid bearings and maglev. Likewise, I expect AIO pump technology has increased expected lifespan and reduced noise levels since first being introduced. Without tests or a teardown, I don't see how you can categorically call them all "cheap".

Not to nit pick, but the quality has improved, while the technology has always been there.

I have a H60 that has been running great the past four years. I like the CLC design for its performance and space saving. I am only concerned about any potential leaks that could fry the hardware. I went with Corsair as I have seen leaks from their coolers ruin some systems, but the company stood up and reimbursed the user for the damage. Part of me is wondering if an AIB like Sapphire or XFX will go to the same extent. If not I will be not touching one.

Good luck getting anything shipped from this tier 3 stores this month.

They're not shipping from the stores, factory direct.

In any case none of them are guaranteed quick delivery, just keeping an eye out as to what pricing is going to be for the most part. I'm seeing about a $700 average.

I'm really hoping Amazon will have them on Prime, but they're always a bit late to release parties or have 2-3 weeks delivery on new stuff.

Can't remember the last time amazon had anything in stock during launch (pc parts being). Better off destroying the f5 button at newegg.

Your local custom Pc shops near you might be taking pre-orders...
I have one near me that is so I snagged a spot with no inflation added to the price. W00t!
I'll probably take a cut and sell it in a month or so after I get done with some benches. I just want to check some things for myself.

I'm just personally interested in -

* How the Fury performs in Gameworks titles. Physx especially.

* Coil whine - been reported by several review sites... how loud is it ?

*Voltage and memory are locked on this card. Possible to unlock via flash ?

After I get my curiosity satisfied and bench it next to my G1 980TI , I'm going to put it up forsale here in the [H] forums . :D
( I'm also going to do the same for the Fury thats released on July 14th.. Hopefully that one has an unlocked voltages & memory )

Amazon SOMETIMES has 'em at launch, but they're almost always unlisted and you have to search by product code.

It takes em like 2 days to get their shit sorted for new GPU launches.

you should sell you 980ti too. Because is old hardware. Haha

Eh, I did get a 3d vision wired kit from provantage before they hit the shelves anywhere else. Still wouldn't get my hopes up and just wait for stock at Newegg.

Amazon gouges like mad on a new product launch. Is 980ti even down to msrp there? Screw them

Amazon isn't the one price-gouging. It's third party sellers. Amazon has a 980Ti at MSRP right now but with an expected ship date of 1-2 months.

We'll see what the price on fury x cards shipped and sold by amazon are at launch. ;)

Amazon was price gouging 980ti's for a little bit. Shipped and sold by amazon were like $899 at first

So they release tomorrow, does anyone know places that usually have release day stock?
