The worst game trailer I've ever seen

I'd say the public has spoken.

Looks like an alright game, but they should have kept the Metroid name off of it.

Nintendo's strategy:

Let's take a generic shooting game and slap a AAA franchise nametag on it and hope it sells.

This is what Nintendo fans deserve. Seriously, you have to have serious mental problems if you are still supporting Nintendo. Shit hardware, franchises milked to death, etc.

What really pisses me off is how Nintendo still has so much money. Can people please stop increasing their profits so they are forced to go third party. That's all they're good for.

The best thing ever will be the day when Nintendo withdraws from consoles and Sega sets up a Kickstarter for Dreamcast 2.

People buy them because they're fun. Simple as that. The hardware isn't great but I honestly don't give a damn about that. All the extra power has done fuck all for the XB1 and PS4, both companies still have shit for exclusives and the PC is a much better platform for every single multiplatform title.

Living in the 90's eh?

Hardware doesn't need to be good. They still make and publish fun games, and bad ones. Somehow people act like they're on a pedestal and not allowed the same missteps other developers make.

This just looks like a shit sequel to Metroid Prime Hunters is all. If they're thinking of Metroid games, that's good. And they didn't announce anything Retro is working on? Gives me a bit of hope Retro is doing some real good with the License.

Ehh I have a 3DS and a Wii U and have plenty of great games for both and I was OK with paying almost MSRP for pretty much all of them. The games have great content even though the hardware may be lacking (which the games still look damn good).

So besides having an arm cannon what the hell does this have to do with Metroid?

I would say that they did something worse than a Mario 2 (taking a totally different game and slapping the name of a known series).

Mario 2 started development as a Mario game and was switched to a random licensed product that included Mario elements. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Brothers_2

Developers (especially Nintendo) are damned these days for releasing sequels that are just rehashes of previous games. While I'd rather have rehashed Metroid I'm not upset that this game is in development and bears the Metroid name. The art style is very different, but the gameplay looks to control a lot like the Prime series.

I haven't owned DS since the DS lite. And the last time I played that was in 2007. Haven't DS graphics gotten much bettter since then? This looks like a game that would have been awesome in 2004.

Tezuka made this way worse last week when he basically confirmed there isn't a mainline Metroid title in production. Something along the lines of, 'if we were making a Metroid, it'd have to be a NX title, since it would take so long.'............meaning, they ignored all those requests for a new Metroid last year, even though we know it was the most requested game....
Didn't even show Zelda this year... Nintendo f'd up bad this year.

Was going to respond and then looked again at who posted it. Not worth the effort.

All Nintendo had to do was announce a new Metroid for consoles and I would have bought a WiiU the same day. Instead we get fed this piece of shit and are expected to be grateful. First Other M and now this. Way to kill a fan, Nintendo...

On that note, I'm getting excited for ReCore.

Yar, that one should be a good'er. Good pedigree working on it. Hopefully with all of these post apocalyptic games coming out, they won't have me burned out on the premise before its released.

And, yeah, I'm also feeling bummed out by Nintendo's showing. Not very many Wii U releases, and the stuff that was announced to be coming out this year - well, we were looking at them last year. Super Mario Maker is definitely looking cool - it's very much the game that I wanted Mario Paint to be.

I also didn't like Reggie's comments about VR. He pretty much took a giant shit on the idea, which while it may be true, I'm not sure if that closed mindedness is how you win yourself friends in the industry. Especially when Sony and MS have been so supportive of the emerging tech so far.

At the very least, you'd think Nintendo would at least see some potential in the idea or at least comment they're keeping an eye on it - not just go out and say it's 'not fun'. Maybe they're still too hurt over what happened with the Virtual Boy.
