Batman: Arkham Knight

it's not about looking good...all the Arkham games look fantastic...but when someone says the best looking game of all time then it's different...all Unreal games seem to have the same basic visual qualities...it's easy to distinguish an Unreal game...seems to work better with grey/overcast/dark settings

Yeah... Ignore him.

Rocksteady's Batman formula is just getting tiresome. Now we have 4 games with the exact same gameplay, mechanics, world, etc, etc except we have a batmobile that all the reviewers are saying is a chore to use and devalues the open world aspect of the game.

I know this is a crazy thought but I was just hoping for some variety outside of everything being exactly the same as the previous games. This is Arkham City with a shitty batmobile.

I'll wait until it's $5 on Steam.

dooooooooooooooood

have you ever stopped to consider that the Batman games are exactly what people want. I love playing each and every one of them because they are the same game play mechanics and you get a different story each time

the Arkham games are amazing because Rocksteady are fans of the Bat mythology and it's fun to see iconic characters from the comics brought to life- Killer Croc, Zsasz, Harley Quinn, Joker, Ra's Al Ghul etc...

LOL. "This is Arkham City with a shitty batmobile."

Yes. I'm sure that's exactly what this is. LMFAO.

I don't understand how the Batmobile part I've seen on gamesradar could be said shitty. Look better than Trackmania.

I beat Arkham Asylum but didn't play the other two. I have a key for Arkham Knight that came with my video card. If I dive right in am I missing out not having played the others?

You're missing out by not playing City. Rocksteady doesn't consider Origins part of the story so they've ignored it.

as long as they don't force us to use the Batmobile too much then it's all good...I prefer to explore the world on foot or in the air no matter how good the Batmobile is...nothing like soaring in the air over the city taking in the views

Kids are raging about the Gamespot 7/10

That review was for the PS4 copy in any case. I'm looking forward to the PC improvements.

I think the issue with it is that they made Batman faster with his grapple/gliding then the Batmobile.

it should be the other way around, getting around int he BAtmobile should be the fastest way to go from point a to b, not climbing up a building and gliding off it.

He's not spiderman.

If the Batmobile was faster I think it would have been seen as something actually useful and then they wouldn't have had to make up some "gimmick" to force you to use it at certain parts.

I'd rather fly around Gotham as Batman than drive the Batmobile.
Already did enough driving in GTA 5.

side-note: Any leaks of the map yet?

Does Gamespot still believe that giving a game a lower score makes them look more critical and intelligent? They're fucking idiots.

The reviewer prefers assassin creed games if that says anything.

I'm glad they included more to do then just fight and stealth thugs. Everything about this game looks superb.

I want to know if this is really Rocksteady's last Arkham game...with all the great reviews the entire trilogy received (and the boatload of $$ WB will give them) it's going to be hard to say no to another one...then again it's good to go out on top...whatever they work on next I'm definitely going to keep an eye on...I hope they move on to something new...I want to see what they do with a new ip

Their next game will be Superman: Metropolis. And it'll play exactly the same.

Well I guess it depends on if WB lets them do something else or not. I'd love to see them try their hands at other DC superheroes. It would be interesting to see what they'd do with a hero that had powers, someone like Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc. Or maybe go for someone like Green Arrow who also has no powers but has a completely different skill set and fighting style than Batman.

I'd prefer they go for Spiderman. Lots to be done there.
No such thing as a good Superman game.

The chances of Sony licencing Spider-man games to WB are pretty slim.

Spider-man 2 was good. Maximum Carnage on SNES was a bitch, but pretty fun. Ultimate Spider-man was fun. Shattered Dimensions was interesting, though it didn't all come together super well.

For anyone so inclined this 40% off coupon (DEALZO-N40OFF-BATAKV) can net you the Premium Edition for $53.99 from Greenmangaming. Not sure how long the code works for but I'd guess until Monday.

lol, sick troll.

This thread is a microcosm of why publishers like Activision can sell the same game over and over again ad nauseam.

Goddamn fucking forbid I thought Rocksteady would bring SOMETHING new to the table after AA, City, and the shit show that is Origin (which I assume they watched unfold)...nope... Same fucking game we had in 2009, now four times.

Apparently all of the comic book nerds came out from the basement in hordes.

Maybe your opinion is just that, an opinion not shared by the majority. Nobody is forcing you to buy the game.

Then don't buy it. I liked all three games and am looking forward to the end of Rocksteady's story. Between Asylum and City they made tweaks and enhancements to the game. Origins doesn't matter as Rocksteady was already deep into development when that came out and they have zero to do with it. Whether or not the Batmobile ends up being great it is something new. Were you expecting a completely different game from a sequel? Sequels are generally about taking the formula and improving on it, not wildly changing things.

The reason COD games sell every year is the same reason why games like Madden or FIFA do: People enjoy them. If people enjoying a type of game and wanting to buy it offends you then quite frankly that's your fucking problem.

This is obviously just blatant trolling, because the changes between each Asylum and City were massive. Origins was less different but you have to remember it was a different development team that mostly just took the existing mechanics and layered a new story over it (although it did offer some new enemy types and the crime scene stuff was cool.)

Knight is adding lots of new stuff as well but you're more interested in trolling the "comic book nerds" so why am I even bothering with this reply?

I got the key today from CD KEYS but it won't work till launch day Steam picks it up at a legit key.
The game thus isn't in the Library so no pre download or anything. If I get ripped off I'll let you know =)

Haven't got mine yet. Did you get the normal or Premium edition from them?

Unless it starts today I'm doubting that there even will be a pre-load.

How will this game play with keyboard and mouse? I was going to wait to pick up an Xbox One controller to play it that way.

Not great, you have to perform some camera wizardry to properly aim your WASD.
While in combat, you usually have better things to focus on. Trying to aim your camera while also maintain a proper view of the battlefield is a pain in the ass.

Any idea if Titan-X owners will end up getting a key for this game like we did for Witcher 3? I almost pulled the trigger on Witcher 3 but was glad I didn't when nV gave it to me for free, didn't want to bite on Arkham Knight if they end up doing the same.

I am hoping we get a review of the game here on [H]ardocp with some comparisons of Nvidia and AMD hardware to go with it.

Nvidia runs 20% faster than their AMD counterparts.
We're done here.

Oh, I see.
You have TitanX and FuryX in crossfire, and SLI and kept that gameplay review all to yourself.

Thanks, you saved us all from having to read an "apples to apples" comparison on gameplay performance and level of detail.

Thank you!
