Steam 2015 summer sale is here! runs from June 11th to June 22th!

Woohoo to the summer Steam sales and Sickb0y being in charge of this thread once again.

Is that a good price for Homeworld Remastered?
Lowest I've ever seen it. Plus, if it goes lower, you can refund the game and purchase it as a gift while the refund processes. After it goes through, gift it to yourself.

Valve has explicit stated that this is not considered abuse of the refund system.

is there anyway to do an Advanced Search, by Publisher or Developer? Oh and Steam is down... I cant log in to checkout what I have in my cart...

so I shouldn't buy Scholar of the First Sin for $13.99 currently a Top Seller but not a Featured Deal...does that mean that the price will go lower during one of those Daily or Cummunity Deals during the current sale?

If it becomes a daily deal, flash sale, or community deal it should go lower than the current price. If it doesn't become one of those 3 it should still be $13.99 on the last day of the sale and you can get it then.

Depends if they fixed one issue, which was they made HW1 essentially a game that becomes more difficult based upon how powerful you are at the beginning of the game. I played at a buddies house and one mission (most all of them) I did a ton of upgrading/fleet building before I warped out of the previous mission and the next one literally became impossible as I was overwhelmed very quickly.

Picked up HomeWorld Remastered and METRO Redux! Time to get some redbull and vodka in my system!

I paid full price for GTA V on the 8th. I just submitted a refund so I can get the in-game cash card for free as the purchase is the same price. :D

Got a refund to my steam wallet but that will take 7 days.

Good move, Steam. Giving me basically a Steam Gift Card. Who am I kidding. I buy games.

I bit on the Metro Redux bundle.... at 80% off I figure it can't get much better.

I already owned the original Metro 2033 on Steam but never got around to playing it. :D

Same here. My friend says Redux is one of the best single player FPS games he's ever played. You can't lose for $10.

I picked out Fallout 4 and Tales of the Sword Coast and got zero trading cards just the Steam Sale games give you cards bummer....... Serpents of the Staglands was on sale so picked up that not sure if it's a good game graphics are more pixelated then Inquisitor.

Gah, they need to get this Early Access bullshit off the daily deals.

Bad!

You broke rule #1...don't buy a game unless it's a daily deal, community choice, or feature deal. Usually the game you want will most likely end up as a daily deal, community choice, or feature deal. Wait until the last day to pick up any game that wasn't part of the daily deal, community choice, or feature deal.

Hmmm Lego Jurassic World came out today, and is on sale for 25% off, your move Rockstar

I can tell you right now Fallout 4 isn't going on sale neither is TOSC...

If they can't even put GTA 5 on sale it's not going to happen with a pre release. I just didn't want to buy games on sale that I won't play =)
Without picking up Fallout 4 and TOSC first.

That's entirely up to the publishers/developers. Last sale MGS Ground Zeroes was on sale as a pre-order. Though I'd bet you are right on those two not showing up.

Picked up Metro Redux bundle and Papers, Please.

Quake 4 at 50% off and still $9.99? I hear ya...$9.99 should be the regular price for that title now.

Yeah, the retail price of some really old titles is ridiculous.

I picked up the Homeworld Remastered as I absolutely loved that game.

One interesting point someone on another forum I am active in raised, with Steams new refund poilicy there is no reason for them to offer up titles during this sale at anything but the lowest price it will be offered since anyone who pays more then the lowest price can simply put in to have the difference returned.

Sure many might not do so, which would make Valve some extra money, but the flood of refund requests due to something like this would surely overload their refund request system.,

Meh, that rule doesn't really matter anymore since refunds exist.

I don't so much have a problem with them putting the occasional early access title on the daily or flash sale, but this past winter sale went beyond crazy with them, some days over half the deals were early access.

Maybe they should consider another section, Daily Deals, Flash Deals, and maybe one row with Daily Early Access Deals?

Although I am also a firm believer that to be put on early access a title should be required to actually have a base game in place, and there should also be a time limit on how long a title can be in early access (as well as monitoring to make sure the title is actually progressing.)

I got to level 48 or something on the monster game =)

nothing interesting already have Wasteland would pick up Wolfenstein but hell I haven't finished Bioshock Infinite.

I made it to level 20 fairly fast yesterday, and then was stuck there for more then 4 hours, but an hour after beating that level I was at level 40.

Can't remember what level I was when I left for work this morning.

You have to look at it from Valve's point of view though. They get a cut everytime someone buys a copy. In their eyes all that matters is people are buying they game. They could care less what state the game is in or if it will ever actually get finished as long as people keep buying it. The disclaimer they put on all the early access store pages pretty much puts all the blame on the developer if its broken. They just simply have to say, "Hey we warned you it might be a big steaming pile of crap but you decided it buy it anyway."

was tempted to pick up Wolfenstein: The New Order for $14.99 but by the time I get around to playing it the price will be under $10...so I'll wait for the Winter Sale on that one

Well no kidding the blame is on the developer if their own game is broken. What's the alternative - should Valve become project managers for every early access title, looking over the shoulder of the developers constantly and tracking/evaluating their progress- "Did this bug get fixed? I see there are still some missing textures on this house, when is that getting resolved?" Would hardly be feasible, and really not sure what people expect here.

There have been some killer games that come out of early access, so a few bad apples don't spoil the bunch, and with the new refund system its completely moot.

It sucks GTA:V isn't on sale, but whatever I'll pay $60 and get a free shark card. Even though from what I'm seeing from all the YouTube videos. Getting money isn't a chore in the game.

Well, with Valve's new refund policy I don't think that rule applies anymore, since as long as you don't play a game for more then the 2 hours the refund allows you can get the difference refunded should the title go on sale in the next 14 days.

I understand that completely, but when Valve takes a 30% cut, I think they owe it to their uses to make sure devs are using their platform to rob Valve's customers.

A few bad apples? I think your confused, most of these apples are rotten but if you pick through them carefully enough you can find a few good ones.

As I state above, for their 30% cut on everything sold on their service I think they owe it to their customers to make sure the devs are ripping off Valve's customers.

I realize Valve doesn't give a rats ass about their customers, as long as we keep buying from them, but that doesn't mean it's right.

If EA were to have been the one to first allow early access, and the let the garbage through that Steam has they would be being crucified on these forums on a daily basis.

Don't get me wrong, I love Steam but that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything they do.

Apparently my team got killed off at level 110. I can't get into a game now at all, though.

Ha, got back into a game. About 15 minutes have gone by and we're already level 43.
