Hello friends.

I am in the market for a new headphone.

Around my 350$ price range I know of 3 headphones that alot of people love.

Hifiman he 400
Senn HD650
Senn HD650

I dont know if someone has used all 3 before, but if you have your input would be greatly appreciated.

I think what I am looking for most is an extremely comfortable headphone with great sound quality, with emphasis on nice bass.

I currently only own a sound blaster Zx sound card so I would be driving the headphones through that until I have enough money to get a DAC / AMP.

I do play games, however the games I play require no real positional audio or soundstage requirements (league of legends / casual CSGO).

My main focus is music, I really like it when headphones have a really nice sounding bass. As far as treble goes, I dont like it really harsh.

My last headphone was an audio technica a900x closed headphone. At times, the treble was really harsh and I did not enjoy it one bit.

So, for the 3 headphones I listed :

Hifiman he400
Senn HD650
Senn HD600

Which would you recommend?

If there are any other headphones within this price range, please let me know! I only know of these three as they are widely popular amongst headphones users

Consider the AKG K712 (neutral) and used Beyerdynamic T90 (neutral with a bit too much treble) over the somewhat clampy, veiled Senns. I don't think the Zx has enough power for the previously mentioned headphones (I've used it with the K712, Q701 and Philips X1), but it can power headphones like the Philips Fidelo X1 or 2 which are fun, bass emphasizing headphones. I did my research two years ago (read reviews and tons of Head-Fi posts) and narrowed it down to the K712's and T90's since I wanted neutral headphones and could not buy HE-400's in Canada. I picked the K712's after reading about the T90's sibilance issues and trying and disliking the DT 880's which also have sibilance issues. I also did not have the option to buy and return headphones in 2013 since no retailers with a hassle free return policy carried the K712 or T90 at the time. If possible, save time and buy a few pairs from retailers with a hassle free return and exchange policy and return the least liked headphones.

Of all the headphones in my sig, the HD650s are the most comfortable. It doesn't hurt that I also prefer their sound to the others as well.

Man I really wish I had some friends IRL that were into headphones so I could try before I buy.

Im really scared to spend like 350$ and hate what I purchased.

Thanks for the recommendations guys however. I ended up going for the senn HD650. The more and more I read about the HD600 vs HD650 debacle...I came to realize I used to own a pair of monitoring headphones from sennheiser ... the hd-280 i believe. They were known to have a really neutral sound.

I really hated those headphones.

So HD600 = more neutral, already in my opinion I wouldnt like.

HD650 = more bass, i think I would like more as I really like nice sounding bass.

I figure if the hd650 come and I really dont like them , it wont be hard to sell them.

if possible live the beyerdynamic DT880's a listen also. I got a pair of DT880 Premium 250ohm headphones for xmas and I have been in love with them, very good SQ (to my ears) and very very comfortable.

Not to totally make you jealous, but in little Bozeman, MT we have probably the country's best headphone store right on Main Street: HeadRoom

You can literally walk in and try just about any headphone you can dream of with their sources or your own. I'm so going to miss them after I move out of state :(

I do not have any of the other headphones, but the Beyerdynamic DT770 phones are extremely comfortable, have great sound and are cheaper than your budget. They are closed though...

Edit: read some more of your requirements, and since you don't require positional audio, the closed phones won't really matter. They also have great bass, and I don't find the treble harsh, but I listen to them though a tube amp which does soften the treble a bit.

Ditto been using the same cans (audiophile nerdy term for headphones =) ) this for 2 years now and years have passed this is the best german made cans ever, yet I have to discover an amp to run this monster rated at 250 ohms..;)

I have the 250ohm ones and run them via a Bottlehead Crack. I can also run them via my Soundblaster X-fi HD USB with no problems, but prefer the Crack for music. They were supposed to be a placeholder for some HD600/650s, but after having them for more than a year, I still have not felt the need to upgrade.
