Cool Video of the Day

"Hey it just dove into the clouds. What should we do?"
"I don't know. Why don't we just wait right here at the cloud top and see what happens?"

Still it looks better than a lot of the big budget movies that have come out lately.

That was dumb. Pretty, but dumb. Not to mention the summary at the beginning.... reminds me of something else I've seen/read/watched somewhere before.

Giant lifeform produces substance that make faster than light travel possible and a cast system makes the lower cast get it for them. Doesn't sound like DUNE at all does it? :p

I was thinking the exact same thing.

"A beginning is a very delicate time. Know then, that it is the year 10191. The known universe is ruled by the Padisha Emperor Shaddam IV, my father. In this time, the most precious substance in the Universe is the spice melange. The spice extends life. The spice expands consciousness. The spice is vital to space travel. The Spacing Guild and its navigators, who the spice has mutated over four-thousand years, use the orange spice gas, which gives them the ability to fold space. That is, travel to any part of the Universe without moving. Oh yes, I forget to tell you. The spice exists on only one planet in the entire Universe. A desolate, dry planet with vast deserts. Hidden away within the rocks of these deserts are a people known as the Fremen, who have long held a prophecy, that a man would come, a messiah, who would lead them to true freedom. The planet is Arrakis. Also known as Dune."

internet nerds always find a way to bitch about something beautiful and cool everytime. I enjoyed it, and would love to see and hear more. Well done to the the person(s) behind it!

This was the first thing that popped in my head too.
Harvesting giant sandworms.
Granted its different from the Dune story....... but alas giant sand worm.

The thing that I didn't like was why are the people flying those small crafts hunting the worms relying on human SIGHT. Shouldnt he have been relying on some sort of thermal imaging or sonar?

Regardless, it still looks neat and I'll watch it.
I <3 scifi

i would definitely watch a full movie if they made one...and im not ashamed to admit it:)

Yep, great characters, exceptional dialogues and amazingly articulated storyline.
The work of a visionary.

A 12-year old visionary.

Was that supposed to be a space cloud? If so, why did everything fall down in one direction after being destroyed? Or is it a Gas planet? I'm thinking gas planet, if so though... how the F is that whale flying if there is earth strength gravity right there?

It had me intrigued. As long as there isn't some lame political slant added to the plot it looks like it would be very entertaining.

Looks bad ass. Very predictable for the last part, though. Still, very well done. CGI is amazing, story looks good.

Wasn't that a joke on Futurama? Leela's pet crapped the fuel that they needed to run the Planet Express ship, right?

Was good for what it is, except the massive amount of lens flares. People seriously need to stop using that shit, all the red dot flares popping up every 20 secs was almost more annoying than JJ Abrams.

My inner grammar Nazi demands I inform you there's an E at the end of 'cast'

....and are you familiar with the concept that the are no new stories, just reiterations of older work?

Who said the planet was as big as earth? Who said the atmosphere was the same density as earth?

Looks pretty sweet to me. Yeah there is a tiny vibe of Dune there. But I'd pay to see that.

this would make one terrible feature length film. The story would just be weak as fuck.

Just because it looks good in a 2 minute snippet doesn't mean it's suitable for a 2 hour disaster movie.
