NVIDIA Unveils The Titan X At GDC 2015

See shit like this makes me really tempted to buy a whole bunch, then file Paypal disputes for "shipping damage" or some impossible to prove "material defect" and give these jokers a taste of their own medicine.

Then again probably not the best idea to mess with scalpers.

Sub-human savage filth. Shouldn't surprise me anymore, but strangely it does.

Whats worse is people are bidding on the Titan Z auction, and its past the $1k mark now. Someone is either really stupid thinking its the X model, or really really wants that card for some odd reason.

Based on the reviews so far, Titan X is 30 - 35% faster then GTX 980 at 2K + res but lacks DP and overclocking ability to make up for it.

Probably the biggest validation/reasons/excuses of the titan pricing I've seen is DP. titan x is releasing at the same price but without that feature. And after the 390x release this card is gonna be a 1k premium for extra vram

Well at least it's got the full 24 SMMs. Could've been worse I mean nVidia could've disabled 1 SMM just as a dick move, then release a Titan Y with the full 24 SMMs and higher clock speeds later if the 390X proves its worth. At least they're going full bore for GM200 right out the gate. *shrug*

(and I can't believe I just defended nVidia )

And $999 and at least +100mV unlocked! lol. It could of been worse for sure... and I would of skipped.

I wonder, with a high end 560w PSU like the one I have (Seasonic X-560), would it actually work okay? Although the VRAM is overkill I like the 1440p performance a lot (and single GPU :D )

Good to go.
A, roughly, 250-300w card with a standard 150w for the rest of the system would run just fine on a quality 560w like a Seasonic. Mild overclocks would likely be fine but would be cutting it close. Maxing out the CPU and GPU would be pushing it pretty close to the max and not something I would advise.

Just my opinion. We all know it will at least beat them in price. ;)

Yes - but it's not like AMD is going to come out with the 390X that equals or beats the Titan X and charge $600 or $550 like the 290X. It's going to be $750+ for sure. It's just smart business.

So in other words you agree with me...

Yes? That's what I started my sentence with. I'm just furthering the discussion with the "value" angle. It's not like AMD is going to say - "NVIDIA bad, charge too much - here...buy 390X for $599" - they're going to squeeze as many dollars as they can out of us. They're no different than NVIDIA in that regard.

Most of us were singing that same tune before the 290X, 970, and 980 dropped. Hell, I'm still shocked (and happy) at the price points they debuted at.

$3,000 Titan Z?

So you're still agreeing with me, again...we know what Nvidia is charging so any price under that with the same or better performance will be a win, win. Nobody is arguing that AMD isn't in it for the money. Bottom line is it will be cheaper...

Put in my order for 2 of them today, next thing to look forward to is Skylake I guess.

My god that is an ugly cooler. Who designs these things?

Trust me, that's already a MASSIVE improvement over their Air Boss offerings...

I hurled when I saw that one. And to answer you question, teens who have just hit puberty.

Haha. Yes, I am agreeing with you. What is your deal? It's a discussion about video cards in an enthusiast forum. I'm just bringing up other points/info.

Good info.

I'd say this to the fact that NVIDIA is always more expensive: you set the prices when you're first. Seems AMD has been mostly playing catch-up versus NVIDIA in the past few generations.

Although, didn't AMD strike first with the 7970? Yes - 12/22/11 to 03/22/12. And look who was cheaper - NVIDIA. Competition! Which is why anyone should hope AMD can stay on life support, at least.

Is that Megatron?

I haven't even seen the inside of my PC for over 6 months, definitely don't need Pablo Picasso-style heatsinks.

It's actually an amazing cooler if you can tolerate the aesthetics (big IF)

But the only way I'd have one of those in my rig is if my case didn't have a side window. Even then I'd still feel self-conscious about it.

lol...I love it. I'd be the same way.

I wish more would go for the external radiator style (like Gigabyte's 3xSLI 980 suitcase dealie lol) versus these 120mm or whatever radiators. What if you want multiple cards? I guess the answer is to do your own custom loop/etc.

My Gigabyte 980 G1 with its cooler has spoiled me with it's quietness.

If this version of the Titan X has improved cooling and quietness, count me in. My case has no window so I don't care about looks.

Damn those inno3d coolers truly are ugly. I'm in the process of getting parts ready for my custom loop build. First one in like 7 years too so this should be fun.
