Advanced DirectX12 Graphics and Performance

That is pretty awesome!

Makes me want to keep up to date on release of this. Also time my next gpu purchase accordingly

playing bf4 when it worked with Mantle allowed me 30 more fps and way smoother gameplay.
Mantle and AMD changed the industry.
Thanks.

Am I right to assume that with DX12 games in the future, we could basically get more performance out of slower CPU (ie. not necessary to spend on top end CPU for gaming) ?

HOLY SHIT that asteroid field demo was insane, that is just kickass.

Correct. At least in the rendering department. The key advantage in CPU performance here is that you free up way more CPU time per frame due to the massive reduction in latency. Rather than jamming everything on a single primary thread you can spread it out reducing the over all time it takes to complete a task.

Their embedded player sucks...I can't even watch it. Anyone know if there is an alternative to view this, like a YouTube upload?

You can save the link by right clicking the video and downloading the 500~mb mp4 mid quality video.
says it under the video ;D

Saw that, but I'll have to wait until I get home...can't do that at work. :(

It funny that claims that current AMD GCN cards have the least DX12 support while it looks like they have the only trier 3 cards at the current time.

Actually only Maxwell has ATM 12.1 DX12 support, the Tier Binding is only a part of what is required, for 12.1 they need to support Raster Ordered Views (RoV) and Conservative Rasterization Tier 1, from those two IIRC they could potentially program a way in the drivers to do CR T1 with shaders and maybe claim support for 12.1, but until that happens they will stay in 12.0 alongside the rest of Nvidia's cards.

So, it is only funny if you don't know what you are talking about :p

i meant that GCN cards could potentially get a form of CR T1.
