I'm looking for a cheaper version of this basically: http://www.amazon.com/X-Keys-XK-60-...qid=1425402789&sr=8-5&keywords=macro+keyboard

I do livechat as part of my job, and having the ability to program keys to say things like "You're welcome", "Have a nice day", etc... would be a huge time saver.

I'd prefer a standalone keyboard for these keys rather than replacing my existing keyboard if possible.

Having removable keycaps is a bonus!

Suggestions?

If you can get away with 18 programmable keys, the Corsair K95 may work for you. $150 for the standard, $190 for the RGB.

hotkeynet

Free software, if you're open to learning a little (easy) programming of the macros.

It did cross my mind to just hookup a 2nd keybaord and somehow map each and every key differently, but I am kind of limited on what I can do, due to system policies.

I was really hoping for a keyboard with nothing but macro keys. Like above.

I would suggest a Logitech G13.

Lots and lots of macros, you would save space versus another keyboard, and cheaper than the USB programmable keyboard you linked.

I used to use something like this when I worked Esupport at Earthlink. It was great for sending out custom scripted responses, when Kana wasn't working as intended.

Something like this maybe. It's made from Cherry so it will last longer than most gaming keyboards. It's also resistant to water spills & dust.
Got one with a nice layout. Will upload some pics a bit later.
For now here is a review of it.

I have one and love it. Though my first love was the Nostromos, the G13 is more usable. They both have the worst thumb sticks ever though.

Yup, still have my original Belkin Nostromos also (NOT the Razer neutered version), but I agree the G13 has much more possibilities. Use my G13 for working also, I use it for just about everything. Lol at the thumbstick, don't use it.
