Lenovo swears the company has turned over a new leaf and vows to become the the leader in providing cleaner, safer PCs starting immediately. Most new computers come pre-loaded with all sorts of software that experienced computer users usually remove post haste. Lenovo is now committed to eliminate the need for extra step in removing extraneous software. This new revelation from Lenovo comes on the heels of the widely publicized Superfish Bloatware scandal.

To all who are affected, Lenovo is now giving away 6-month free subscription of McAfee Livesafe security scanner. If you’re already one of its subscribers, your subscription will be extended by six months.

All going well till the McAfee bit...

However, it's time this went industry wide. It's one change that would improve the Windows ecosystem in leaps and bounds.

You can buy a PC from a Microsoft Store and its basically had zero bloatware (unless you call MS antivirus program bloatware).

But really all manufacturers should at least offer a pc with zero bloatware.

yay, so when I buy a new laptop, I won't have to format the hard-drive, and reinstall a nice blank slate windows?

That will certainly save me a few hours.

I hate all that junk.

Signature Series or something like that. Costs more, but worth it.

Plot twist: Lenovo's idea of bloatware is totally different from yours.

It's the Signature Edition of other manufacturers sold through Microsoft that's free of bloat along with their own Surface Pro line.

Not sure what they mean by "no bloatware" if it still comes with McAfee.

amirite?

Yeah you'll still have at least a dozen useless apps to remove.

The problem with the Microsoft Signature series is its limited country wise and also choice wise. In the UK we get an uninspiring choice of three laptops and the lovely Surface. Needs to improve.
