Wondering why you haven't been notified of your winning entry in the 20th Anniversary PS4 Contest? This ought to explain everything. :D

Sony Japan has accidentally erased all information obtained from PlayStation owners who entered to win a 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4. Those who purchased PlayStation 3, PS4, Vita or Vita TV between December 4 – January 15 were handed a calendar with a code which entered them into the contest.

Well at least they're taking account security more seriously now. Can't steal personal info if it isn't there!

The cynic in me thinks that data got stolen or deleted in the "hack" and Sony doesn't want to admit it.

maybe they felt the data was compromised to the point someone could of changed who actually won to make a family member or friend the winner so they scrubbed the whole thing and started a new.

Someone network admin assistant spilled their Monster Drink on the server again....

Glad Sony sold off SOE before it got hacked to hell or outright deleted...

A large corporation deletes data and...can't...get it back? Yeah, something else happened here.

Whenever I hear the name "Sony" now I can't help but think of the Benny Hill running around music.

The company is turning into a laughing stock.
