It does not fit. By "not fit" I mean the holes are on different spots. Of course you can just use different screws and attach the Galant top but the base is totally redesigned. They are not using screws anymore but kind of plastic clips with a second pin to secure it. I was kinda disappointed. Its holding good for now but if you want to disassemble it you have to keep the 3 crossbars on the top and remove the bottom part of the frame.
Btw the legs are very heavy
Do you have to plug the cat in to the mains, or do you put batteries in to make it's eyes light up like that?

I don't know about his model, but mine have solar panels in their bellies.
Been seaching for months to find a desk that suited my needs after moving outa state. Finally went to my first IKEA store and was completely blown away by how farking huge it was. And found the perfect desk to replace my ghetto setup at long last!

I just got a 63x31 Galant and am wondering if it can support my dual 24" monitor clamp... Does anyone have clamps on their Galants and is it holding up?
Anybody know of a good Ikea product that fits under a Galant desk that is a drawer unit? I want to put these under each side of a galant desk and have some solution that looks good too.
by just looking at the BEKANT link you posted, it does not appear that the series was designed for extensions.
i am betting that IKEA is ditching the GALANT because it was confusing for many people to design the system they wanted. it seems like a strange move. maybe they will offer another line of modular tabletops? regardless, this sucks and now i'm wondering if i need to stock up on GALANT pieces before they completely go away.

I wish I didn't have to use flash but the lighting sucks on camera in my room
And zip ties does wonders for the wiring since I forgot to buy the gasket thing that Ikea sells.
I have 12 years with my Jerker and I will say this again, hands down the best Ikea Desk ever made!!...I have 3 in storage, I just cant let go of them.If its the old school Jerker with hex bolts, the best thing to do is mark the height of the desk with some masking tape so you don't need to count holes from the top or bottom.
To disassemble, tilt it on it's side so the desktop doesn't sag or fall down when taking the side supports down. Lay a towel down if you don't have carpet.
I have moved my desk 6 times now, it's still in good shape and no issues with stripped bolts. It turns 10 years old this year.
A word of advice: DON"T!I have 12 years with my Jerker and I will say this again, hands down the best Ikea Desk ever made!!...I have 3 in storage, I just cant let go of them.
When I had full-sized tower cases, I kept them on the floor. I now have an SFF, so it's on my desk.Do most people put their computer cases on the floor or on the top of their desk?
