4.99 each 35 bucks or more for free shipping.
They use the apple proprietary mount but I got tons of ideas on modding it to make it vesa. So for 40 bucks I get 8 of them as a project.
This was from another deal site but I figured some of you guys might have some thoughts.

these with a piece of angle iron should work just based on pictures and measurements. I will research further once they arrive.

Wow, I'll bet it wouldn't be that hard to mod this for the Vesa mount as you stated. Dang, $5 each seems insanely cheap!
 
It looks like the original iMac mount hardware holds it on with 2 screws. I'm willing to bet you could just drill holes in a VESA mount plate to screw the two screws in and be done with it.
 
Sorry to ask and I know there was something to this but why is the brand name blotted out around here?

Well it doesn't let you check out... Bummer since I have an Apple Cinema Display which would be compatible.
 
Well I just tried to order 7 to get that thar free shipping. Heres hoping it works.
 
My god, they must have the worst website ever. I got it to get to the shipping page but when I wanted to check if they had it in stock at a local store I'm unable to get back there.

Have no frigging idea what I am going to do with 7 of these dudes, but it was cheaper to buy the 7 with free shipping than it was to buy 2 and pay shipping. :p :p :p
 
The hell with it I bought 7 to see if it will go through.

Est. delivery by March 5th so they have lots of time to catch it.

Yep, I got a order confirmation as well. Estimated delivery is March 4th.


With 7 of these dudes, I could start hanging plants off of them. Bhahahahaha.

I have no frigging idea what to do with all of them. :p

A couple of them I am going to mod for a Vesa mount but the other 5 I don't have a clue. Maybe sell them on Ebay or something and pass the savings on.

Don't hold your breath, they are backordered according to the site (mouse over the ship date) and more than likely we'll all get cancellation notices in the next few days.

Definitely needed on to mount a homemade indoor antenna on to better change the position for different channels. The other six... a giant ROBOT! lol

Ordered 7 as well because same/cheaper than what I wanted + shipping however should my order get canceled and someone has extra's they want to sell let me know.

Still accepting orders. In for 7. Hopefully this is a case of an overenthusiastic production run that they just want out of their warehouses.

I have a few monoprice universal VESA conversion plates that I will try if this order would go through.

Again its backordered and if they have to take it into acquisitions its going to get flagged and all orders will be nixed.

That being said the "Apple" mount part is held onto the arm by one bolt/nut or one pressfit piece (depending on the model) and you should be able to remove the apple mount adapter very easily leaving a open hole to mount a VESA plate to.

Ergtec uses the proper production for this type of products, meaning there are really only 2-3 small pieces that differ between models, while the apple version uses a stronger internal spring and the apple mount piece everything else is almost identical to the normal freedom arm. On the LX arms the only part that usually differs is the pole (which is threaded so you could swap out).

Like I've said before don't hold your breath as we should be seeing order cancellations coming in this week, but if (in the snowballs chance in hell) it does go through these are childs play to modify.

I would say the best chance to get these is if people don't abuse it and as long as this doesn't get reposted to a "mainstream" (slickdeas etc) deal site. If there are a hundred or so orders it might slide under the radar but if its getting 10k orders in a day it will get flagged and pulled post haste.
 
Yep, I agree with ya iRevert on the cancellations. It is hard to say at this point.

And as you pointed out, it should be very simple to mod these to fit standard Vesa......If they don't get cancelled. :p

Haven't gotten any updates, rest assured if/when I do I'll let you know. Slightly uneasy that this wasn't pulled right away and is still up like that, if the SKU didn't pull up the actual arm I'd be worried that we're all ordering a small part or something.
 
I couldn't resist... I jumped in and ordered some. let's see how it goes.
 
Yep, I haven't gotten any update on the order what so ever.

My estimated date of delivery is still showing March 4th.
 
just bought one of these a few months ago for around $180 bucks. I'm tempted to order 7 more lol

Link still pulls up a valid page for me, the only thing different is the backorder date is pushed back further than it was when I ordered.

A bit more info on these, the arms that were listed were damaged inventory Fry's was attempting to clear out. So these wouldn't be refurbs or scratch and dent but actual damaged items (if they sold) its misleading on their site but it was meant to be store only and you could see what your were getting. It is doubtful that any of these orders will be filled or shipped as they will just sit idle until the SKU is deactivated or they come across some more damaged ones, even if it was filled you might be getting incomplete units or units that are heavily damaged.
