All this shit is rumor.
Everybody is behaving like chicken little here.
Give this business the benefit of the doubt.
The guy on OCN maybe just has it out for Frozen.
Rochester NY where they are located got 2 feet of snow Monday.....maybe thats why nobody was there? Maybe snow damaged their warehouse. Seen any news footage of Boston lately? Buildings are falling apart all over due to snow.
This whole thing is just wierd rumor.

2 feet? Nope. More like 6.5 inches on Monday.

Source, I live here.

Yea I live here as well, not anywhere close to 2'. Also I didn't even realize they are here as I only recently moved here. Time for a trip!

Right now, I'd be happy with some official word on the website than anything, no matter if it's going to be good or bad. The unknown is always the worse.

I live ~100mi south west. I can say between here buffalo and there, there has been plenty of snow and ice the past few weeks on top of the bitter cold. heck that one quick storm half of buffalo got a couple feet and the other half got next to nothing.

Perhaps the build up of snow/ice caused a collapse somewhere in a building they use? Perhaps frozen pipes? Perhaps employees couldn't make it to work due to weather and maybe got canned because of it?

So much speculation. Probably best to just sit and wait and not make any major orders until they get it figured out.

I've made several purchases from FrozenCPU over the years. My first Thermaltake watercooling kit and a ton of lights and other accessories back in the day. Nothing for a few years.

My order I made yesterday around 5pm has been moved from "processing" to "packing" in it's status, so there's activity there, despite the BS rumors.

I'll let you guys know if/when it ships.

P.S. I received my other order via UPS today. That order was placed on 2/6/2015 @ 2:41 PM

I've seen several people in this thread and the OCN thread suggest the owner put an official statement on his website. I understand why you would want it, but stop and think about it.
Why would he want to advertise to everyone visiting his website that there was some turmoil? Wouldn't that just potentially drive away potential customers? Why give anybody placing an order a reason to hesitate.

Instead, he seems to be trying to get the word out to the same places that disseminated the original closure news that he is indeed still in business.

To be perfectly honest, he doesn't owe anyone an explanation. Whatever was the cause of the sudden staffing issues is between him and the former staff. The bottom line is he is now going to have to prove that he can still provide the level of support everyone here has been praising them for. Only time will tell.

We as consumers should just make educated decisions about where we purchase from. If I were buying today, I would likely buy from another vendor while keeping an eye on this to see if he rights the ship. If he does, and the service, support and pricing is something I am comfortable with, then he will earn opportunities at future business.

If the lack of full disclosure of personal details makes you uncomfortable, then simply buy elsewhere.

So many vultures. You act as if a liquidation sale is a good thing, we have two real choices that I know of and FZCPU had slightly higher prices than performance, but a far better selection and a better discount; the website isn't painful as hell to use either.

That "packing" status is automated and not done by a human being. Once your CC and/or payment method is verified and completed the system will automatically place it into the "packing" status que.

If I am wrong then please let me know but I do believe thats how it works.

Performance-PC and FrozenCPU used to be my go-to site for specialty hardware...Performance-PC has gone downhill and now this

A Swiftech employee on OCN also confirmed that FrozenCPU was shutting its doors. If the owner fired everyone and is not shipping out orders with partners like Swiftech say they're shutting down, then I'd be inclined to stay away from there until the dust settles. Chances are the site likely will shut down unless someone buys it out.

But right after that employee posted the owner of Swiftech, Gabe, posted stating that the employee was wrong and shouldnt have posted what he did.

The truth of the matter is this: nobody except Frozen CPU insiders really know what happened, and I for one have been unable to contact any such insiders.

All I can hope is that this could be a temporarily thing, and if it is not, then I am personally saddened by the news.

Maybe next time Hardocp will do a little research before they post something and maybe sit back and read it before they post it instead of just copying something they read (especially referring to the comment about the guy's addiction that was totally un-necessary).

Once again, the cesspool which is OCN is the source of completely unfounded rumors. Such surprise. Wow.

I live just 2 hours east of Rochester and we indeed got 24 inches of snow between Sunday night and Monday.
I have friends that live in Webster, just north of Rochester and they got at least a foot.

I'm not sure what amount they saw in East Rochester.

I have to agree with this.
Putting a post or link in a forum is one thing, but front page OMG!! 911 sort of stuff and then including comments about personal issues(fact or fiction) is really not what I'd expect.

There was essentially nothing in the linked forum post of substance.

Damn, thats sad. Who's left now? mnpctech? And what a throwback when someone mentioned 2cooltek. Feeling sad as shit right now..:(

Also, wtf? Addiction and physical warehouse damage!? I want details!

Glad to hear they're not out of business! When I needed a specific heatsink they were the only ones that had it. Hoping the best for you, Friga.

Have used FrozenCPU a few times in the past but not recently.. never had a problem with my orders.

ResellerRatings for FrozenCPU has nothing but 5/5 for their February reviews, although all but one "reviewer" that I checked has posted more than one review.. not sure how common that is to have a bunch of "one review" posts so there might be a chance someone could be manipulating the score over there.

After that we heard rumors of them going bankrupt, but those rumors could not be substantiated.

This above quote is from Monarch Computer Bites the Dust?. Just because the situation can't be substantiated doesn't mean it isn't happening. I do feel that Mark needs to take control of the situation if FrozenCPU is indeed being unfairly maligned.. a small posting on the website would help. And we need some [H] boots on the ground at East Rochester, NY to give us the straight poop on what's going on!!

This is why i quit shopping at FrozenCPU years ago and took my business to http://www.performance-pcs.com/ which ships faster anyway. The last time i dealt with Frozen wasn't the greatest experience and i went to the review site as you did. Not 1 single review under 4 stars. Kinda odd i thought. I had gone to the site to post my 1 star review, which i did. Within a few hours POOF! It was gone.

They doctor their reviews. Don't believe anything you see.

I've been a FrozenCPU customer for years. Never had a bad experience. Performance PCs on the other hand..... well... lets just say I avoid them now. I'm just happy there are still a few companies out there catering to our niche.

I have also used PerformancePCs without any problems. It is too bad that review sites such as ResellerRatings, Yelp, etc. can't be relied on as much as we would all like. Any company or service can occasionally screw up but would be nice to know if it just screwed up with me or everyone else as well!!

Regardless of the disgruntled former employee statements, something does seem to be up with FrozenCPU.. no updates on either Twitter or Facebook since Thanksgiving.. was fairly consistent in updating Facebook & Twitter twice or more a month but that stopped after July and since then only four posts in six months!! The following was posted on FrozenCPU's FB page earlier today..

We're due a statement or something. Lots of rumors you have closed and I just had something shipped on Friday, got my package Monday and you guys send me the wrong reservoir, been calling and emailing since Monday and nothing. Pissed off customer about to file a paypal claim!!!

We just heard back from Mark Friga
Wonder how Kyle was contacted as LegitReviews wrote..

Our calls to FrozenCPU went straight to a recording that said to that the store was closed and that we should call back during regular business hours. We were calling during regular business hours, so it does appear that something is indeed going on.

And someone at forums.guru3d.com wrote..

I believe it to be true, tried calling them last week with no answer, UPS has notified some user who tried to return an item as "business closed"..

To quote George H. W. Bush (or Dana Carvey).. perhaps buying now from FrozenCPU "wouldn't be prudent at this juncture".

Hmmm....it's now 24 hours since I placed my order (with "rush processing"), and it still sits unshipped. I've been a custom of Frozen CPU since 2006 (!), and rush shipping has always resulted in my order being shipped in under a day.

I'm going to give them another 24 hours, and then file a dispute with Paypal. I hate to see a company that has given me such great service in the past go down (if that IS the case), but I'd rather not be out 80 bucks.

...the strange thing is - my other two orders I placed last week both arrived in a timely fashion, to include the one I made on Friday the 6th.

Ok, I just checked it's location and it is actually about 10 minutes down the road from me. I'll take a trip over there first thing tomorrow and see what I can see.

Frozen is firing? Isn't that an oxymoron? And yes, I saw the updated first post, but I couldn't help but make that joke. :p

Take pictures if you can!! Their website has pictures of all sides of their building.. we can compare yours to see if indeed any damage was done.

Yep .. never seen that before .. a 70 page thread deleted. I guess it was bordering on risky for them to continue to host the thread.

Ah well , fingers crossed FCPU come back from this.

The thread is gone is that a sign that this is just a ugly rumor?

Well there is something a bit wrong there, i ordered 4 days ago and nothing since via email correspondence. Pics of the building (if valid) show it empty and some pics show damage inside the office. This is what likely got the thread canned at ocnet.

They won't return calls so yeah its more than a rumour.

"please bare with his company"

I refuse to share my personal nudity with a corporate entity.

...unless I'm on a magazine cover or centerfold, of course.

I'd like to believe there will be an official statement to put some definitive truth to this matter.

Personally I've never had a bad experience, and I've phoned in to get some advice and talk stock/availability. Fingers crossed.

Hope it works out for them either way. I have been purchasing stuff from them for over a decade and have never anything but quality service.

I was a customer up until 2006, when I started avoiding them. I was unhappy with my customer service experience with Mark and took my money elsewhere.

I'll have to come back for the next "FrozenCPU is out of business" thread.
