Looking for a hot swap solution for Work/Personal

I'm interested in setting up my PC so I can use one SSD for my work OS (I work from home frequently), and another SSD for my personal OS. For both drives, the OS would be Windows 8.1, but I would like to keep my work software and settings separate from my personal stuff. I was looking at hot swap bays to be able to do this easily. I thought about dual booting but I have always encountered issues doing that so would like to avoid if possible. Basically I'm just looking for hot swap caddy recommendations for a 5.25" bay that can use 2.5" SSDs. I would not make use of the hot swap functionality, just the ease of swapping the drives out when I'm switching from work mode to personal mode. I hope this makes sense, and thanks!

You might look into a drive switch / selector. They usually mount in a drive bay, and have some buttons and maybe a key lock. They will either 1) switch the power between drives, letting your mobo pick a powered one to boot from, 2) switch the data, leaving all drives powered, or 3) switch both the power and the data.

********** offers a few products for the first type, though newegg stopped carrying them for some reason. The second type I haven't seen in awhile (romtec trios/combox), The third type was made by Indus / Idex, but now is produced by Exsys (example: model EX-3466).

I've been trying to buy one for awhile but they're so obscure and sketchy it's hard to tell how much you can trust them. Cooldrives.com appears to have supply of the Idex product at a cheaper price, however they refuse to tell me who the manufacturer is or what the warranty coverage is.

dual booting should work fine as long as it is set up properly?

What about a virual machine with in the home OS and go full screen view?

^ What he said, I keep an old XP machine in VM just for outdated software and a clean Windows 7 in VM for VPN connection to clients.
