What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Really? It took a little bit to get used to the controls but I enjoyed Max Payne 3 but that's just me. I thought it was a great PC port.

What really pissed me off:

- Your character often "stays in cover" when you moved out of it. This means your gun is pointed up and you're shooting at the ceiling getting you killed.

- Bullet time jumping. Often times I want to jump sideways, but it makes me jump forward getting me killed.

- The whole "lets force you to aim at this guy" thing. Gets you killed because you're fighting the game to shoot the guy in front of you when it wants you to shoot someone off in the distance.

Also just tried installing GTA4 as I never played it. I can't even figure out how to launch the game. Nothing happens... non-Steam version, updated to patch 4. Was thinking of playing the game with mods, but now I hope I can play it period. Though I have a feeling it will be an absolute turd even if it does manage to fix itself.

As my only two Rockstar games, I have to say I am now not looking forward to GTA5. Being shitty and the other being completely non-functioning doesn't make me interested in their future products. Most overrated game studio in history.

Overall I enjoyed Max Payne 3. I recall it being a pretty dumb game. The plotline was awful and aesthetically shared very little in common with the old games but the shooting was fun enough to make up for it.

Playing through FEAR 2 still. I guess I'm halfway through. I played through FEAR as recently as 2 or 3 years ago and it was still excellent. This one not so much. Its not very challenging. I'm not kind of person who thinks just making enemies bullets hurt more or be tougher can give you more of a challenge so I'm not gonna bother putting it on hard. Enemies should challenge you in tactics and swarming, flanking. This was much better in the first one. In this one it all feels very scripted and being a counter-strike player I find myself often head-shoting them before they make it out of the doors.

At one point a guy on your radio says "Alma wants you. Like a pizza at an anime contention" and that is the best of example of what this game does wrong. It just not scary or even creepy. It feels very by the numbers, I get what the reviewers were saying now. I'm very very anti jump scare games. Giving me a heart attack every 5 seconds does not amuse me. I like a slow boil scariness and this game fails at both. It's tolerable. I've certainly played worse. Such is the price of completing backlogs.

Other than that I'm playing way too much CSGO.

I must be one of the few who thought FEAR 2 was more creepy than the first game in some instances. Mainly, going back through where you came from would often present another attempt to scare the player. Don't recall that in FEAR 1. FEAR 3 really ruined the series though. It is okay as an action shooter, but it doesn't even attempt to be scary. And it is clearly geared for co-op with points and rankings flying across the screen constantly, which just ruins the theme.

Hoping the Logitech Orion G910 keyboard will be here tomorrow so I can play some games on it.
Has some Steelseries Rival mice on the way too =)

Either play Wasteland and Battlefield 3 or 4 I might pick up Evolve next week.

My custom joystick arrived from the States ( $200 + $83 import taxes to Toronto, Canada ):

I have been playing Raiden via MAME, one of the best shoot em up games that I have ever played ( I must have poured $30 in quarters, in college like... 18 years ago ):

I don't often buy video games at full release price, but I caved in and bought Dying Light. Haven't played a zombie game since Last of Us. I hope all the hype is worth it.

tonight will be Battlefield Hardline and leftover beer from our Super Bowl gathering, Bud Light and Stella Artois. i'll probably get full before i get buzzed.

I've got a ton of stuff I could be playing this weekend. This is the first weekend in a while where I don't have much in mind going into it. I also have a lot of projects around the house that I have to get done. I'll only be gaming in the late evenings for the next couple of days. Probably a speck of Borderlands 2 with my daughters, and then who knows? I've been meaning to start Divinity: OS for a few months now, but I don't think I have the time to sink into it yet. I'll probably stick to Zelda games and shooters. :D

NBA Live 15(hey $19) nba 2k14 (pc) NFS rivals. and a bit of the hard-line beta.

Dead Space 3

How is it? Have you played the 1st game? I'm 90% through the first one and enjoyed it. How much different would you say the 3rd is from the 1st in general mechanics?

Playing Dying Light and Insurgency today. Was playing super well on insurgency past few days and basicay dominating every time I got on either of the 2 servers I play on. But I played for a half hour today and just wasn't feeling it. Played like crap missing shots I would normally be spot on with. I felt like I couldn't get my chairs height and position right for some reason which oddly really makes a difference for me when I'm playing a competitive first person shooter. Blah oh well. Getting a few drinks at the bar right now with lunch and I'll give it another go, I always play better with a Saturday buzz :)

Stopping at costco on the way home for some redbull and vodka! I wanna be jacked up and awake when I play all of the Alien Isolation DLC tonight!

I have played both and i enjoyed both
The third is not as dark oriented and has fewer "I nearly shit my pants moments"
It has a lot more outdoors areas. I really dig the zero gravity parts. I have been meaning to replay it to play the special missions i missed.

Going back to probably a 10 hour binge session of Dragon Age Inqisition, take a break from Far Cry 4 and Resident Evil HD

Daughter and I have been playing Starbound. The Upbeat Giraffe update is pretty intense.

the Swapper!!!
So love this addictive little game.
Also picked up Resistance for PS3 for $1 at gamestop last night. Never played it. :)

Going to play some Evolve.

I think toward the end of the game
when you're assembling the codex
it starts to get really good. The final area leading up to the ending is very dark and made up for the first 75% of the game, in my opinion. I especially liked the DLC that extended the ending.
I was very excited and creeped out by the large indigenous necros.
But I thought the game was excellent. All the mechanics were refined and polished.

I will be finishing up Assassins' Creed: Black Flag, then I need to decide what to play next.

Couldn't really decide after looking through my Steam and Origin accounts.
I loaded up Trine last night and so far it's not bad, may continue that and I need to get back to Battlefield 3 single player campaign.

Moving back and forth between AC: Unity on PS4 and graphic modded ME2 on PC. Also mixing in a few games of NBA 15 here and there.
