Laughable Anti-Title II Propaganda Video

Holy fuckballs I had to stop that at 30 seconds in... and couldn't they get a less douchy looking actor for their fake video?

So what if what's being said ends up true?
At the very least, I'm sure enough wireless carriers will collude to jack up rates and loudly blame it on Title II / common carrier / net neutrality, just to be bitchy about it.

That's just the officers, the board of directors has at least 1 person from every major carrier. As usual, all you have to do is follow the money.

These organizations spend a ton of money telling Americans that the end is near if they don't stop whatever laws are trying to be passed. I would guess the majority would believe their propaganda simply because they don't know any better.

They allow comments on that video? They deserve every bit of hate they're about to get.

I also love them trying to sell sponsored data as a perk, oh your so fortunate that you carrier/isp is giving you unlimited access to a single service instead of just giving you a enough data for day to day use for your $60 a month.

*deadpan* "It's like the government wants to shut down the internet."

Once more, with feeling!

Pretty shallow objection to the video. Couldn't think of anything else to criticize? It's not that hard.

Why bother. I watched the video, the rest of it isn't worth the breath. That actor though. Big douche.

The fact he's in the video makes him a douche. The fact many on this forum instantly insult people appearance makes them douches. I forgot this forum was full of masculine models of perfection. :p

Well, I believe the guy. Those weren't paid actors, they were real people on the street. I like my wireless, and I want to keep my wireless. Wireless is different. </s>

I think you'll find several people on this forum alone that will.

Indeed. Anything that has the word "guvment" in it this days is essentially satanic to many people these days that are perfectly happy to do exactly that opposite of what's in their own personal interests.

Sorry, but if the guy cannot bother to groom his face properly, it's open season for being made fun of. If someone wants to make fun of my appearance, go ahead. I'm not perfect. I'm also not a paid actor in one of the worst Youtube videos, in terms of quality and message, ever made.

It's tough to stomach the thought that there are people impressionable enough to be influenced by this video, but they're out there. When Steve linked to the Title II article on Wired yesterday I actually thought the comments section were being trolled by something out of the Reddit Armie playbook. It was just comment after comment proclaiming anti-obama nonsense, liberal this liberal that, communism, whatever. I'm still not sure it wasnt a group troll event. But part of me knows these people really exist if videos like this are actually being made to speak to them.

Kinda sad really.

These twatwaffles had a chance to do something good with their "open" internet. And they chose to do bare minimum infrastructure upgrades and charge ridiculous amounts of money for tiny data caps. So fuck them....now its time for them to bend over and get raped like we've been getting raped for the past 20 years.

And yeah I'm hardcore republican.

This is my favorite part of the video. It's like we should be grateful that our bill is going to subsidize Pandora music instead of letting us listen to whatever we want.

Let's see........government subsidized monopoly or government subsidized and regulated monopoly. Which path should we choose?

I hope the government regulates everything, inventing its authority from thin air. It really doesn't matter at this point. People generally get the government they deserve - which means a national holocaust, hopefully, isn't too far away.

I mean, obviously. Nevermind that I went around my office asking some of the same questions and was just met with a bunch of blank stares and "Huh?"

Funny thing is the internet was originally built under Title II in the US, the classification was changed under the 1996 Telecommunications Act with the introduction of Title III. Once title II was pulled all the smaller ISP's disappeared, the big ones consolidated their grip on the market with regional monopolies, investment in updated infrastructure went off a cliff and fee's went through the roof.
