I have just received my Ncase and now would like to build a rig for gaming at 3440 x 1440 and occasional of video editing. My main concerns are fitting everything in the case and keeping it cool. I plan to overclock nothing extreme just a nice performance boost. As far as budget under $2000 is where I'm aiming. The system will be my daily driver for 5+ years and only foresee upgrading the gpu in its lifetime. Feel free to suggest parts I don't have listed.

The processor will be either a 4970k or 4690k. Overclock goal of 4.5-4.6

For motherboard I'm looking at the impact iiv or the z97i-plus. My concerns are the Impacts riser cards will block cpu coolers and sata placement will too. Will the 97i be just fine for that overclock over the years.

Ram Is Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB. Will it be too tall?

For ssd It's ethier 840 evo 1tb or crucial bx100 1tb. I may add a wd black 2tb in the future if space becomes an issue.

Psu is one where I not too sure. its ether the silverstone 600w or 500w sfx-l. I understand the sfx-l is a tight fit and the 600 is a bit loud. At work I have 5 servers and 6 enterprise switches in my room and don't notice unless I think about it.

Cpu cooler I have no idea just suggest something based on my overclock and will fit.

GPU I'm looking at a rear exhaust 980 but will wait a little bit for some new g/freesync monitor reviews and the rumored amd release coming up.

for fans I will have 2 120 blowing In on side and one more pushing into the gpu. Let me know if i need more.

If I'm forgetting something let me know.

I'm doing almost the exact same build as you and debated many of the same choices. I think the parts you have chosen will treat you well for a long time.
