UK Wants To Ban Messaging Apps Without Backdoor Access

What a dumbass.

They should have just backdoored everything like the NSA does, and not said anything.

this won't do anything

those who have something to hide will always hide it successfully regardless of these petty gov't laws trying to regulate IM apps

Yeah sure, because no bad guys can ever find backdoors purposefully placed into software and use it to their advantage.

Guys, why is it so hard to accept this guy is not dumb or anything. He's just your a regular right wing politician. What he says he wants is completely illegal under EU law anyway. The again, I think he promised a referendum to get out of the EU heheh. Hot air...

The NSA just is poor at keeping secrets, they are not unique from any other government. The only reasons other countries may not do what the NSA does is if they don't have the tech and/or resources, nothing to do with a respect for privacy of their citizens.

SETEC ASTRONOMY....

There's a lot of things that should be secret and a lot of things that shouldn't be secret. In this day and age of everything being about communication, there needs to be a way to communicate privately.

I always assume what I do on the Internet is wide open - it's a public network. However, if I encrypt my communications, it's private. You shouldn't be able to monitor that, even with a warrant. :/ Just my thoughts, though.
