Bust out the rocket launchers and get in your tanks, it's time to take out some hackers. :D Thanks to Lloyd P. for the link!

What you need is aggressive action by law enforcement, and even the military. The FBI, Secret Service, and other agencies need to be out arresting hackers wherever they are. The military needs to be disrupting cyber-criminal operations across the globe, so they don’t have the chance to reconnoiter endlessly until they find a weak spot.

I'm sure a few drone strike on some Nigerian internet cafe's would go along way to shutting down some of these scams.

I so disagree with this whole thing.

The Government gave the business community a free get out of jail card and completed screwed all of us by saying that as long as these businesses sign up and comply with federal internet security guidelines, then we can't sue them if they loose our data. But federal internet security guidelines don't require all vulnerabilities to be closed, you only have to close the ones that have been patched. If a vendor hasn't patched a vulnerability then it sits as unresolved until the vendor does patch it.

But with this law in place, where is the incentive to fix the holes? There is no requirement for a vendor saying they must fix their broken shit so where is the incentive?

As for the military, the military needs to stay all the way away from criminal related hacking. We have an FBI and DoJ for that. We don't need to tie the military up doing the same stuff unless the hacking is tied to cyber-warfare, state or terror sponsored cyber-warfare. As long as it is just malicious or criminal hacking keep the military out of it, Posse Comitatus baby.

Its faux news.... If they had their wish, all non whites would be in jail, the DoD would have 95% of the US budget, we would build a 50 foot high fence around the entire country and then all the whites could play baseball and eat apple pie, just like in their dreams.

meanwhile, the rest of the intelligent world doesn't give a shit about what fox news has to say.

Spoken like someone who has never watched fox news and gets all his news from the DNC.

Except I have watched Fox news and is pretty damn accurate. Not that the other media is any better mind you, just on the opposite extreme of bs.

There is a reason I no longer watch news on TV.

It may well be Fox News, but Fox News didn't pass the Safety Act and no one else is really talking about it. Seems they just snuck it in somewhere along the way and nobody noticed until this blowhard starts in with his twisted version of the way businesses should go about taking advantage of it. I love these quotes;

Now more than ever CISOs and CIOs need to be acting with a unified voice that can be heard, especially inside Washington, D.C.
Because the only way to secure your networks is with the Government's help.

2. Demand more aggressive action by the government to take the pressure off of you.
More of the same, this guy is one of those who thinks the Federal Government needs to solve all out problems for us.

push for easier use of the SAFETY Act by having Congress clarify the law with the simple addition of a few words related to cyber-attacks.

Think about it: legal defenses guaranteed under U.S. laws. Sounds pretty good, right? It does, so hop to it.
And with this, the only real pressure on vendors to fix vulnerabilities is businesses who are vulnerable demanding the fix. The Safety completely removes this as a concern because now the businesses can't be held liable.

Way to go Congress.

It's really simple. The NSA and the FBI need to pull their web sniffing appliances off the net so that the hackers can't backdoor into anybody's systems. That's how they get in. :D
