Newegg expires 1/6 $167 512GB SSD+

$167 is a crazy price. Drive is like $282 on Amazon

That dual drive is tempting for upgrading my mother's laptop. The code saves a good $30 over Amazon, too...

amazon had it for 169.99 but I couldn't add it to cart, may be because they ran out.

No kidding, had to call in for the order I placed a couple days ago to get $105 credit @ NewEgg for the 256ers, then ordered 2 more from TigerDirect since NewEgg refused to give me refund or issue store credit TODAY. Told them they were losing a sale... they don't care.

RAID1 for 256gb works better for my application, but damn that was a deal for 512!

It shows that price still on the box to select size but they don't have any in stock or any listed by AMAZON anymore... they must be catching up in their system.

Just chatted with amazon, they said its out of stock. And the rep is going to follow up with me when its back in stock and if the price is higher he said he will adjust it. Gotta love amazon. I wasn't looking to purchase one but for that price and for them helping me out now I have to. lol

Amazon frequently match competitor's pricing while it is in effect, but as soon as the competitor's promotion ends or they run out of stock, Amazon kills their deal also. I am sure they have a few product managers who have their own price tracking tools, or monitor deal sites like this for these kinds of price adjustments. They used to have a "report lower price" feature but ended that about a year ago.

Yup, shady as hell.

We're sorry. The item Crucial M550 512GB SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal Solid State Drive CT512M550SSD1 is no longer available from the seller you selected. To see if it's available from another seller, click here to return to the item's product detail page.

Wow it was JUST $169.99 five minuets before I posted that. I bought mine, and posted here bang bang. I'd keep an eye on it it seems to me that something has the price bouncing around.

Man, it's too bad I can't get another Newegg Premier trial, I could have considering exchanging the MX100 I got for around this price for the M550.

Eh, it's about the same, I'm not too bothered by it tbh.

They still have it. I just used it recently. Search for "tell us about a lower price" on any item page and you'll find the link.

It let me order one on backorder for the $169 price. Had a $20 Newegg GC so with the coupon code it worked out to less than $150 shipped...not bad.

Still available on both sites for me, grabbing one for a new Steam folder I think.

This was a decent deal. Needed a msata though, and got the 128 gb m550 for $59.

M550 is currently sold out. sad day, that's a hell of a deal.

At $165 I'd probably buy it. I paid $130 about a year ago for a 240GB. I need a new SSD. But I am really waiting for the 500GB range to be $130 or so. But again, I might just pay the extra $30 to get one now.

I just did. Not available through Amazon for that price at this time, but you can still backorder through the Egg which is what I did.

I jumped on the deal as I wanted an SSD to put most of my games on and leave my 850 pro for windows and other productivity software.
When I placed my order yesterday evening it said Backordered on NE, but this morning I got a shipping notification with no tracking info (I choose the cheap shipping option so maybe I don't get one?). I am out of town Thursday through Monday so slow shipping works out great for me :D

I'm waiting for prices to drop more, I bought a handful of SSDs already this go, hoping to score 4 or so at 480-512gb for a raid 10 array.

I don't really NEED one but I think I may bite since the deal is still up on Amazon.

I jumped on a 512GB - it will sit next to the other 10 SSD's that I have and don't need.

Yeah, the Amazon one just worked for me. I'm using it to replace a desktop's dying 1.5TB (and hilariously underutilized) HDD. Clicking, ticking, and frequent data read issues. Ugh.

I bought the 250gb on black friday sale for 70 and it's served me well so far. I honeslty don't need an extra but for the abundance of games on my machine I might grab another one instead of settling for a fat mechanical to store my videos.

I bought (ordered) one from Newegg when they were out of stock. The total is $165.98. They have charged my Visa account so I hope it will go through even though they are still listed as being unavailable.
