Here is my problem and I am posting to see if anyone else has run into this before.

I have an APC Netshelter with the powdercoat, and a regular M6 cage nut is not fitting in it. I have other cage nuts that are already in the Netshelter that are bigger and fit just fine. Even if I try to jam the M6 in there it does not open back up enough to get the screw through it and it never actually seats itself in the rack.

The difference is that the ones for this powdercoated Netshelter have a larger gap where it snaps in to the rack, as seen here:

The gap on M6 is 2mm and the gap on these larger ones with no markings is 3mm

Does anyone know what type of cage nut this is or where I can get some? I do not have any more and I really can't afford to "borrow" from other equipment in this rack.

Thank ya!

I was going to say just order some 10/32 screws with cage nuts... cage nuts are designed to be pretty universal

You would think so, until you try to put them in this rack :p

Well I just happened to find one with markings on the side so I did a Google search on that. The marking was m610 on one side and 093 126 on the other.

It turns out the markings 093 126 are the "panel width" according to Fastenal so I ordered some and hope I ordered the correct thread size!

Learn something every day! We have APC cabinets here and a bin full of fasteners so I guess I never paid much attention to the different sizes.
