I recently acquired a brocade x448, and upon opening it up, noticed that it had a 128MB stick of SDRAM (144-pin) on the board. I was wondering, is there any noticeable difference in putting in a bigger stick? Or is 128MB more than enough for this?

Note: I'm planning on putting in the 10gbps module in a few months, would extra ram in the switch help?

Use Case: NFS file share to 8 different hypervisors.

I would assume that it wouldn't help unless you're actually running out of memory and if that's the case you'd notice.

They don't have swap space so they can't move memory to slower storage. If they run out of memory they crash or dump CAM tables, or don't let you enable some new feature or they run out of memory in their routing tables and can't add new routes. If any of those were the case you'd know you needed to add more memory.
