I've wanted them to do this since OoT came out on the 3DS. I am so pre-ordering this. I loved Majora's Mask and if they do as good of a job on this as they did on OoT 3D it will be excellent.

I really hope Nintendo releases that Special Edition in the US. I would be all over it.
 
I never actually played this on the N64 so I will be getting it for the 3DS for sure.
 
Sigh. I just sold off my 3DSXL as I haven't played it much. I've actually never played any of the N64 Zelda's. I know, I know. Lol.

Its alright, it will be out just in time for the "new" 3DS release.

Just going to warn you if you're not a fan of timers it's hard to get into this Zelda. Only major console Zelda game I never beat because of it. People who have beaten it seem to love it though.

Don't count on it. Nintendo said they won't release the new 3DS outside of Japan until current 3DS sales start slowing down.

The timer definitely is a turn off for some. But if you stick with it, it really becomes a non-issue after some time.

I won't be pre-ordering, but I will be picking this up. I'm a sucker for Zelda games...

Im pre-ordering soly to get the special edition version. Other than that, I wouldn't pre-order. But since I know the game is a good game and it looks a little better graphically than the original, I know it will at least be a solid purchase.
 
ugh I really want to pick up a 3DS OOT and MM but that is just to much money for a handheld. Was kinda hoping they would do a HD release on the Wii U or something.

That would require a full on top to bottom remake. You can't just "HD" a game that old, it would look terrible.

If random people on the internet can make high res texture packages for these games then I am pretty sure nintendo can. Look up OOT hires or MM hires and what people have put out there is pretty impressive. Even if all they did was retexture the game at 1080p and emulate it on the wii u I would be happy. I wouldn't care about these remakes or the 3DS if ninty would just release n64 games in the VC already.

Eh, they look okay. It's not remotely what I would expect from a console remake of either game though. I'd expect a hell of a lot better out of Nintendo then the quick and cheap port job doing something like that would be.
 
That is my point that Nintendo has the resources to do something more substantial since they have more then one person working in their spare time to dedicate to a proper remake. Either way it won't happen and its OC. Maybe I will see about picking up one of those $79 2DSs that I saw online.
 
I'm damn excited. MM was a favorite. Nintendo is already working on the next full fledged Zelda game so I don't get the critic reception at all. I think this is a great announcement. I also think Nintendo's future will be portable and no longer home console based.

I'm one of those rational people who thinks Nintendo should just make games for other competitors consoles and let them deal with the hardware end of things. Nintendo has enough creativity to make everyone else in the industry jealous. But its obvious they are being held back by poor decisions concerning hardware.

Unlike Sega I think Nintendo could be one of the top 3 third party developers without breaking a sweat if they wanted. But for now I'll take remakes happily.

One of Nintendo's biggest strengths as a developer is a deep understanding of the hardware they work on. Every game they make is designed around the strengths and weaknesses of the hardware it's on. That simply isn't something that they could do if they made games on another system. Beyond that would you really want Nintendo to have to get involved with all the other AAA bullshit practices on other consoles? If all I ever buy on my WiiU are Nintendo developed or published titles I'll be perfectly happy with it. I don't want anything that would risk Nintendo sacrificing the charm of their games in order to compete with people like Ubisoft, Activision, or EA.
 
3DS is like my favorite console ever after the SNES. Link Between Worlds and OoT 3D blew my fanboy mind.

Mask is my least favorite zelda but still, they are refining the gameplay as well. I'll take as much Zelda I can get!!!!

A few GameStop's will be carrying 1 or two extra's of those Limited Edition Bundles, its $10 more than the regular game and comes with a killer statue that will be a collectible for any Zelda fans. I thankfully have a few buds that work at the two GameStop's locally and are already aware that if an extra comes in that they will hold 1 for me.

I heavily suggest trying to be the first in line when GameStop opens its doors if you plan on finding one (again, if your GameStop gets one).

Again, its important to note, NOT ALL GAMESTOP'S WILL GET THIS!!!!!
