Since Google feels like it has outgrown its "don't be evil" mantra, we should all do our part and come up with new slogans the company can use. ;)

Questioned as to whether Google needs to alter its mission statement, which was twinned with the company mantra “don’t be evil, for the next stage of company growth in an interview with the Financial Times, Page responded: “We’re in a bit of uncharted territory. We’re trying to figure it out.

He's merely realized that his company has become so large, complex, and international that it is effectively a nation-state. As nations are moving towards regional cooperation and globalism, the companies that were long ago (pre-antitrust) effectively individuals are now on a scale that resembles historical entities like the Republic of Venice. Some might argue that Google is nominally a U.S. vassal but that doesn't change the fact that there are political stakes to be had. You can see hints of this with, for example, how the EU handles corporate law, indicating a stage beyond the government-sponsored companies found in socialist states.

"You either die innocent. Or thrive long enough to become evil."

"Building convenience into your life, one app at a time. Now, Would you kindly, Pick up that Can."

"He who controls the data controls the universe."?

"Capture everyone's data and contract out to the world's government agencies." Sounds catchy.

HA! Love the Bioshock reference. Well done.

I am curious though where google will end up landing.

"Find good. Consume it."

I would argue that it was the US government that turned Google into what it is today. So far it's been a good child. Unless I understood what you said all wrong, I think you have an agenda.

"...we can put our differences behind us. For science."

"All your data belong to us"

"Too big NOT to be evil"

"Don't Be Evil, That's Our Job"

We'll be evil, so that you don't have to.
Evil is in good hands with us.
We double dare you to compete with us.

(all joking aside, and all privacy issues aside, I do like some of their products...)

Google is still better than many other large entities. But too large to not have interests

OUTGROWN "don't be evil" huh? I guess that's a sign of our culture when basic morality is something you "grow out of."

Think they need to reinvigorate it so.... "Double Stacked Don't Be Evil" (No Slug backs).

"We know you better than you know yourself."

or

"That's not a mole on your back....go see a Dr."

Amazing they went from nothing in 2009 to approaching 90% world marketshare now. Even Tim Cook had to use coming out of the closet as a marketing tool to attempt gain more customers.

Yeah, when you grow up, "Don't Be Evil" changes to "Don't Get Caught Being Evil."

Google, you've sure come a long way, baby.
