Sigh... kind of annoying. My first ROG / premium board and they couldn't at least pretend to be a customer and try to put it in an enclosure before selling it??

BTW, anyone else have trouble with the backplate and ports? Too much foam and some of the ports are slightly crooked.

I was under the impression the foam pads would hold it into place. I have no M.2 to test it, but it became my suspicion when I saw the instructions in the manual to remove the shroud upon install. OK that's atleast comforting to knowJust a tip regarding your complaint about swapping M.2 SSDs. There's nothing that actually binds/holds the SSD in the adaptor, other that the slot you slide it into. I swapped mine out easily by removing the video card, and shining a flashlight on the slot (Nearest the back of the board) and carefully inserting the SSD from the front. Additionally, in the end, I found no reason to remove the "shroud" on that expansion card.
Personally, I'm regretting the purchase of this motherboard.
Sound Issues:
I have to disable the Amp (SoundSense) in order to get front panel stereo.
Microphone fades in and out.
Most annoying issue:
Sometimes my system doesn't boot. A few restarts (typically just once) would get it to boot. Why it doesn't boot in the first place no idea. It's stuck at Q-Code A0, or is it A3... let me double-check on that.
For the price, I expected something wonderful. I wished I got the MSI Gaming motherboard instead. At least even if I have problems with it, I wouldn't think about how I spent so much more for it.

It detects my Sennheiser HD555 also as < 65Ω but it's actually 120Ω. I haven't tried the "extreme" setting though.I tried an old pair of studio headphones Gatt HP7 and they sound wonderful. I have pretty much the same hardware in there atm as you Chang3d.
But don't know what you mean that you have to disable "Amp (SoundSense)"? Do you mean the "SenseAmp" feature? When you plug in your phones it checks the impedance. It seems to identify mine immediately as under 65 ohms and "performance" setting is just enough for me, otherwise it's too loud for my old ears. How do you even disable that?

Anyone with this combination?
Noctua NH-L12 / ASUS Maximus VII Impact / NCase M1.
Does this combination work? If yes, which heat pipe orientations work and which don't?
Are low profile memory modules mandatory?
Does the large top fan interfere with the fan / HD bracket?
Thank you.
Anyone try fitting the L12 on this board?
I'm interested in the "Improve System performance" changes. The first BIOS update has finally appeared:
MAXIMUS VII IMPACT BIOS 0412 (2014/10/17)
1. fix HyperExpress can't work on EFI driver.
2. Improve System performance.
The CoolHub is nothing more than two 4-pin DC-controlled fan headers and an LN2 switch.
It's a shame they are not PWM-controlled, it's not like they couldn't have with the seperate PCB.
LN2 = Liquid Nitrogen. LN2-mode is to enable the motherboard to function properly when using liquid nitrogen. You shouldn't have to tinker around with it unless you are going for recordbreaking overclocks with the stuff.
