This is kind of a dick move if you ask me. Seriously people, don't be a jackass, if you want to bend an iPhone 6, buy one.

At this point I thought it best to leave the store. Did I feel bad about bending it a bit? Not really — others were trying, and I walked past a person attempting the same thing on the way to the exit. If they made me buy the phone, there would have been worse tragedies.

What an ass!

The only thing more pathetic then his actions is his justification for not feeling bad for doing it because"others were doing it."

Well, sucks to be Apple..
No, wait, it doesn't!
I know you shouldn't be doing this kind of stuff, but ater reading so many stories how the Mac Geniuses were intentionally destroying iPhones because they got new ones for free its just kind of hard to get upset over it.

"The author of this post was long Apple at the time of this writing. "

I stopped at the first line. How effing hard is it for these "journalists" to check spelling/grammar before posting online.... Lazy assholes can't even proofread their crap anymore....

Appears to be a slow news day in the 'tech' section of Business Insider.
Their staff didn't even write this, they just copied it from some blog.

What gets me is how many of the semi-literate children masquerading as media professionals these days actually believe they are clever.

The last paragraph made little to no sense at all in relationship to the story. Also the multiple references to the authors "size" is a bit odd.

Been sitting on my 6.3" Galaxy Mega for a year and a half now. No bends, breaks, etc...

if you read the rest it is actually defending the iphone 6 bendability

this is simply a click-bait article that in the end said it took enough force to bend that his Thumb ached for a good 20 minutes -

from the article said:
But … and this is big BIG but, I find it hard to believe this thing is going to bend under normal wear and tear. Maybe if you’re over 200 pounds and sit on it for 20 minutes it might bend, but why would you?

Seriously? There isn't anything wrong with the spelling or grammar...that sentence is investment-speak for buying and holding Apple stock in one's portfolio and profiting from the increase in value of the stock.

When someone says, "I'm long Apple" (or long Coke, or long Intel, or whatever) that person is signaling a vested interest in the value of the stock climbing. Journalists often divulge this so you know where their loyalties lie in regards to the company's value.

I don't even click through to these kinds of stunts. Journalism, it might be, but show the class to buy the phone at least. Especially if you're "long Apple". LMFAO.

The writer is bent for messing up an item which he doesn't own. What an ass.

from the article:

wow ... just wow

Glad I'm not the only one that zeroed in on that statement. All that aside, the guy is a complete dick for this. They should of made him pay for it being blunt. As I've said in a few other threads..This is a problem with the new iPhone, but hardly a surprising one or one that is even difficult to get around. Once again, if you have a phone that expensive and carry it in your pocket sans case, you are an idiot.

Yeah, what a tragedy I'm not interested in a bloatware filled, unstable, malware susceptible plastic piece of crap.

On a scale of 1-10 this statement scores an 10 for sheer ignorance and fanboyism. It almost made me consider doing a comparison of who the bigger tool was, the author of the article in question or you for posting that drivel.

What is the issue of spelling and/or grammar here? I'm not seeing an issue.

Because iPhones are immune to malware and aren't bloated at all.
Nice try. ;)

I just took my Samsung Galaxy S and tried to bend it. Apparantly it does not bend which is amazing considering that I bought this phone for $29 from Costco almost 2 years ago. For $29, it does 99% of what an equivalent iPhone did 2 years ago on top of the fact that it also did 4G. I cannot understand this cult that has allowed Apple to price their products at status symbol levels which deliver poor substance and all status. Apple products are great products for the 10-15% of owners who actually have a rational and justifiable reason for it.

Nice move I wish I had a reporter job like just break stuff cause it's inferior.

I've used both Android and iOS devices and stock Android is extremely bloated in comparison to iOS. I've personally abandoned Android (and most Google services) because of Google's NSA like behavior. Kind of looking forward to what's going to happen with Windows phone though, now that Windows 10 has been officially announced.

So they have a written confession for destruction of property. They should call the authorities and press charges.

as the photos show, it's a showroom phone that won't get sold anyways so fair play

and screw apple

Go into any electronics store..or hell any store for that matter and start breaking shit, then use the "It's a showroom model that won't get sold anyhow" argument. See where that lands you.

Man this phone fanboyism (on all sides) is fucking annoying...

While it is wrong to break things that aren't yours, I doubt Apple will be hurting from a few broken iPhones.
Considering how much liquidity they have, alone, it would be like someone stealing less than penny to any one of us; oh the horror! :p

Ok, being a Finance major this kinda stuck out at me. First off, I just want to clarify a few things. Cramer's Shirt, the guy who authored this is obviously spoofing Jim Cramer - the guy who is on CNBC making angry stock market predictions. Mad Money anyone?

So, when a finance guy says I am LONG this or that. what he means is recommending the stock as a long term position. Meaning it is expected to rise in value in the long-run, as opposed to be SHORT a stock which is a short position. - the sale of a borrowed stock which is expected to drop in value.

In short, he said the author was long apple at the time, meaning he was either invested in Apple shares and/or advising the stock as a long term investment. The article addresses a business audience btw.

And yeah, that was pretty dick to intentionally damage a product which he even admits is hard to bend, then just walk away

It's this kind of thinking that is ruining our society today. You think it's OK to wrong someone because in your opinion the impact to them is small. Let me tell you a small story to show how wrong headed that is.

I am a software engineer now, but my first paying job writing software was when I was in my teens and still living with my parents. It wasn't a big job and I wasn't expecting to get paid, but the guy I did it for insisted and paid me with a 1932 Silver Dollar. I thought that was so cool! I could imagine years later showing it to my children and telling them how it was the first dollar I earned writing software. A few weeks later my older brother stole it to put gas in his car (yes he used it as an ordinary dollar). When I confronted him he admitted to taking it and didn't understand why I was so upset. After all, it was only a dollar; he could pay me back, right? Putting aside the fact that it was worth much more than $1, it had a lot of sentimental value for me that could not be replaced. He had no way of knowing this, of course, but that didn't change anything. I had been wronged in a way that could never be corrected.

So keep your hands of other people's stuff!

Even Anti-Apple people must agree this is a dick move

I'm not a fan of Apple products, and yes I agree that this is a dick move, he's also an asshole for trying to justify it.

Thats a little over comparing, you could drive over those old nokias with a semi and leave them unscathed. But for the record, Im in the boat of being a bit apprehensive of the bending. I keep my iphone5 in my front pocket and Im not exactly thin. (it has no bending problems)

Why cant they just use something like titanium or tungsten carbide? Its not as cheap as a soda can but is still a fraction of the extended profit that apple makes on these things.

“How did you do that?” asked someone else. “I used my hands,” I said. “I think it’s kinda cool they make it so it bends,” another said.

Lmao! Some Apple fanboy thinks its a "feature"...
