So I'm in the market to get a my first 1440p monitor.

I was thinking of buying a CatLeap but atm green-sum's prices are insane. Probably out of stock. Any other trusted dealers?

Then again I'm also thinking "Why not a G-syn monitor". But then why not wait for a Free-syn monitor.

But not sure if Nvidia will support free-sync...

AAAARRRRG all these question!

What do you think?
1. buy cheap Korean screen and see what happens. Better buy now and enjoy it, than waiting
2. buy g-sync (is there is a 1440p?)
3. wait for free-sync (probably wil need to get AMD card then)

option number 2 is the correct one.

the only 144Hz,1440p, g-sync screen is the PG278Q ROG SWIFT from ASUS.

Considering option 1 myself, and also the Vizio P series. Not too into the idea of paying 800 for a single TN panel just for Gsync when many 300 dollar KR panels do 120.

Well I'm more of a "starcraft, dota2, Original sin, Civ5" kinda gamer. Not that I don't enjoy shooters. I'm just not into the competitive shooter stuff.

So I would rather like a IPS screen instead of a TN.

Then again ASUS RoG Swift PG278Q - G-Sync still has some great colours.

Get the X270OC. It is a glossy, 110Hz-160Hz, 1440p, display.

Are you set on the 16:9 aspect ratio or are you thinking about the 21:9 as well?

Well depends if the 21:9 gaming experience is good. I was looking at it but was put off that some games don't support it.

But if it's able to display that game with black borders then thats OK.
