Can nothing impress me??

The only thing that's a little more interesting than the pack is the Panasonic Lumix CM1 if the camera is capable for motion and low light. All phone cameras are a blurry mess with any sort of motion.

Seriously....Android fan.... iPhone user.

Been playing with dozens of phones and NOTHING is impressing me. When is someone going to come out with something that "wows" me?

:(

If you look at from a hardware point of view it's just a phone. I think the big breakthroughs will come from software. Ok Google, tell me what my friends are doing. Ok Google, tell me what's happening around me. It's coming sooner than we think.

Everything. I just think you've lost your inner-geek. It's not a tech problem, it's a you don't care about anything tech related problem.

Hey... it COULD be me. The last time I think I really "smiled" over something was when I saw the first Samsung 4k TV.

Are you waiting for something like foldable screens/phones?

I dunno about the physical feasibility of putting out any of these "wow factors" to market just yet or any time soon for that matter.

I honestly don't know what I am waiting for. I want something SO awesome, that when I see it, it brings a smile to my face. MAYBE the Note 4's screen will do it. It's supposedly quite incredible.

Windows Phone. Seriously. Check out the Lumia 1520 or HTC M8(for windows). The HTC M8 also has superior battery life(greater than 25%) over its HTC M8 for Android counterpart.

The M8's performance seems to be not on par with it's Android counterpart. The Verge thinks HTC is to blame for this.

IMO most people don't pick of a note device and go yeah this is it. Most people are too, shall we say dense to see the possibilities and know how to really work it into their life. But hey what's new? When computers were growing we had the same comments from the same personalities. But eventually all those people gave up and own a computer now.

The galaxy note was a phone that was chastised, belittled, the laughing stock. But some small amount of people, about 10 million world wide saw the possibilities, the leaders so to speak. And then the word started to spread and the slower people around them started to see the possibilities. The initial reaction of I would never put that giant device against my ear starts to fade, people start saying well I could probably fit it in my pocket. I am sorry if nothing impresses you but for people who can see the possibilities phones are just starting to really take off. Difference between every note device has been a huge improvement IMO. And I hear the note 4 is going to rock a screen that just leaves tons of the negatives of OLED in the dust. How is 500+ ppi, infinite contrast, and light output that makes up for deficiencies not impressive?

Me personally I am more excited every year about phones. I have been in it for a while though. I witnesses the disaster that the iphone brought to the industry. A feature drought where phone makers were being pushed to remove capabilities rather than add them, all part of the less is more myth perpetuated by apple whom put billions in the bank selling people less for lots more dollars. But that myth is falling apart now and the galaxy note has led that charge. Phones can now get medical diagnostics on you, they can read your heart rate, they can actually last a whole day, not the BS people said before oh look my phone says X hours battery, but then why is it dead half way through the day every day? And now really important players like MS are supporting devices with MS office. Phones have been strapping on features like IR emitters, finger print readers, heart rate monitors etc... And all of these things are useful and software is starting to catch up. Just like it took MS a while to get inking on android all hardware needs software support. But that is all starting to come together. It is good times IMO.

The next phase I am looking forward to is when we see people start doing more docking of phones. You sit down and get a full keyboard and mouse and display and that ability will be somewhat standard perhaps through USB C connections.

I've been asking online for nearly 3 YEARS why we can't have phones that dock?? IMO THAT would be something that would bring a smile to my face.

And by dock I mean "wirelessly" connect... why can't the phone in our pocket WIRELESSLY connect to the peripherals sitting on our desk? How awesome would THAT be??
