Nvidia 980/970 Availability Thread

The MSI 970 I ordered this morning from NE now says "OUT OF STOCK. ETA: 09/23/2014". I sure hope my order made the cutoff!

EDIT: It has shipped!

Yes, but they usually focus on mainstream so I wouldn't expect to find one in-store; online ordering with ship-to-store should be available in a few days.

So much for regional shipping! Mine just shipped from Industry, CA so it will have to travel cross-country. Looks like the first batch is shipping from the west coast. As they get more stock they will probably be able to ship from the regional warehouses. Now I'm glad I paid extra for two-day shipping!

Has anyone seen any 970s with the magnesium nVidia cooler?

I'm gonna be putting them on an X58 machine, so the slots are spaced together, so I'd prefer blower-style.

I might even get 3... I was looking at R9 295X2 but seeing as 2 970s meets/beats 295X, maybe I'll still take that grand and buy a 3rd one. >:D

Pretty sure only oems are getting 970's with titan coolers. You are out of luck sadly.

If the demand is there, evga might release one with a slight price premium.

Seems to be that they are shipping from wherever they can without much attention to how far it has to travel. I'm in NY, and basically anything I order from Newegg comes from the NJ warehouse, but my 680 is coming from Indiana. Another member here on the forums however said his did ship from NJ.

My guess is that different warehouse got different SKU's. Just a guess though. I got the two day also, so hopefully getting on a truck today means UPS will do their thing and drop it off Monday.

My 2 970s shipped from newegg. Unfortunately they show a delivery date of Monday even I live less than an hour from neweggs grrrrr wish I had time to go for will call today :(

Hopefully it will come tomorrow still fingers crossed.

I've learned my lesson from ordering the GTX 780 at launch, only for the 780 Ti to come in a few months later and be noticeably better.

I'm going to wait and see if there's a 980 Ti coming at the end of the year.

Just got my tracking from them too. Unfortunately, it's coming from CA and I live over in VA. Gonna take about a week to get here I'm sure.

I live in pa but I paid the extra $2 for 2 day shipping. Still waiting on my tracking.

Yep that sounds about right, first EVGA GTX 980 SC I ordered around 8am EST from NE shipped out of IN. Ordered a 2nd one about 25 minutes later and it is shipping out of CA. I got Shoprunner 2-day for both, so hoping I get both on Monday.

The highest they go in-store is somewhere around $400ish range, so maybe 970s. They also get Nvidia branded cards, which Nvidia only seems to do for BestBuy to fill in the void left by BFG's departure from the market. They also have a few EVGA and PNY SKUs on the market, but I don't think either of these board partners focus their high-end stuff at BB due to low sales volumes. I was in a BB today looking at the iPhone 6 for my wife, and there was no sign of the Maxwell cards.

Personally I'd try to unload the GC at a 5-10% discount to someone looking to buy a console and then buy a GTX 970/980 from Newegg/Amazon with the proceeds.

Yeah, when I originally ordered from Newegg it was from IN but my reorder from NeweggBusiness is originating from CA. Going to be a long way to MA.

why would they launch on a Friday, this is so stupid having to wait the weekend for shipping

Came up empty at MicroCenter Rockville, but MC Fairfax has six as of now (1923 EDT on Friday 9/19). Price is $339.99 (EVGA GTX970 SC ACX 1.0 version).

I am looking to either order the 980 evga acx 2.0 or msi gaming. When do you guys think we will see non reference 980's?

Wanna hear sadness?

I live 8 miles from the amazon warehouse in IN - I bet my card is just sitting there waiting to ship to me but amazon is showing out of stock lol

Genearlly, doesn't Newegg honor MSRP on Day 1, then for the second round jack up the prices to match market demand?

I felt like I had to buy 2 970's today or else they'd be like $400+ the next time Newegg has them in stock.

My order from Newegg Business is also coming from CA even though I live in VA.

Picked up a GTX 980 at Microcenter NY. They had 5 EVGA 980 SC and 5 EVGA 970 ACX. Also they just got in 1 Gigabyte 980 and 2 Gigabyte 970 G1 Gaming.

evga, gigabyte, and zotac 980s in stock now at newegg

The Zotacs aren't really *out* of stock anywhere, its funny with that brand, people seem to avoid it. Example TigerDirect sold out of all their 970's and 980's today, the one card still in stock is the Zotac. Same with Amazon.

The two 970s I bought this morning from Newegg is now 10$ higher. I wonder if they'll keep raising it.

They really should change their name. The name Zotac doesn't really inspire anything good

It's because the card looks cheap. Small PCB, small heatsink. It doesn't inspire a feeling of "high end" quality or ability.

I think Zotac should put premium blower-type coolers on their cards, and keep the PCB's reference so people could at least put water blocks on them.
