Verizon is looking to shake up the Internet entertainment business by jumping in with both feet with a launch planned for the company to have its own digital video service up and running by the middle of 2015.

"I think over-the-top video is right around the corner," McAdam's said according to the Journal. "We've got the assets in place, and I don't feel like we need an awful lot more.”

Yeah, they dont need things like customer loyalty. They lie to, cheat and shit on their customers but I bet when this crippled restrictive service launches the failure will be attributed to piracy.

they are going to come into everyone's house and blow up their tvs? that is mean.

I can see the slogan now "What all the TV you want ... as long as it is less than 2Gigs." Although I'm sure they will decide that their data plan limits don't apply to their own streaming service, just everyone else's.

Now that we are getting all these steaming services I don't see it lasting much longer. Everyone getting exclusive deals means you'll have to sub to 10 or more services if you typically watch more than a few channels. And if you're going to be paying that much anyway, you might as well stick to cable.

Clearly there is no need for federal regulations protecting net neutrality...

Good thing they have that 5GB data cap on their broadband services in some parts.

That's lovely.
Don't know how they'll be able to manage that after the FIOS fail.

What assets? Unless you're one of the chosen few,FiOS is a joke. With their practices with customers, the only thing they'll blow up is themselves.

Fuck Verizon and Fuck TV.

Fuck Verizon more, though. Every bit as bad as Comcast.
