New iPhone(s) on September 9th

If android fans hate iphone as much as they do, why do they go through all the effort of trying to defend their devices?

I just don't like Apple's attitude when releasing new iPhone's, and acting like it's all "magical" and "revolutionary", almost as if no one has seen or done this before,.

When in reality, Android or maybe Windows Phone has had a majority of these same features for a couple of years already..

Apple, who you crapping ?

You're the one that is going through the effort to defend. I made no mention of android in any of my posts, I only mentioned lack of ram on ios and problems it causes. Sounds to me like you have android envy that it has more than ios since you seem to be thinking about android so much....

I know what I will get. It's actually easy choice. Z3 Compact is the best compact package out there and has everything that I need. Battery life should be awesome. Besides Galaxy Alpha and iPhone 6 are both overpriced. 16 GB iPhone 6 costs apparently 700 € according to GSMArena.

It might be fine around the block but if it's that short you don't even need GPS, heart rate, etc.
It's fine for miles, actually. At least in my case.

Again, your mileage — in this case quite literally, it seems — may vary.

Heh, they are not trying to market to you though.

  • They are marketing to the people who don't understand how NFC works and that its been around for YEARS.

  • They aren't marketing to someone who understands the benefits of wireless AC, voice over LTE, or voice over wifi notice how long they spent on those HUGE features? About 10 seconds combined.

  • They aren't marketing to people who know that a sub 1920x1080 screen on a flagship is laughable.

One thing they do right is build quality though. They have an attention to detail that other companies (like Motorola and HTC) are finally starting to see the value in.

They are marketing to people who actually believe all this stuff is magic and who will pay insane amounts of money for the phones, the accessories, and the software (apps etc) on Apples new phone.

Have you ever watched and Android release event? Just curious. You are only mad at Apple for doing it because they get attention.

I didn't watch the keynote. How many times did Apple use the words "magical" and "revolutionary", and what were they in reference to?

I have both phones. I currently own an Iphone 5s, HTC One M8, and I just picked up an LG G3 this last weekend. I'll probably get a Nexus 5 in the next day or two. I don't envy anyone who has to use any of these phones because they all have their own flaws. I do think its hilarious that people will fight tooth and nail over which is better when they all are terrible in their own ways.

Here's the thing about the "welcome to 2012" rhetoric: it still means that a ton of the reasons people have given for not choosing the iPhone just went away. If there's something you prefer about the iPhone (faster interface, Touch ID, superior gaming, timely OS updates), you no longer have to feel like you're making a big tradeoff.

And for all of the vitriol put forth by the Anything But Apple camp, the truth is that these iPhones are probably going to boost Apple's sales by a dramatic amount at a time when Samsung is having its share whittled away at both the high and low ends. I really like modern Android, but I think the fantasies some have of an imminent, absolute Google monopoly might go by the wayside.

To play devils advocate, what do you expect? Talking down their new products? They're trying to sell you something and are masters of marketing :p

I have noticed that with every Apple executive though, going all the way back to Jobs before the left the first time (and I'm sure it's something he coined, more or less) is they tend to be overly optimistic during their keynotes and presentations. EVERYTHING is "outstanding", "great", "fantastic", "superb", "magical" , etc. More so than any other company at least.

Where Apple tends to really shine isn't the feature(s) itself, but how they implement them into their products. Their NFC payment solution is a great example. It's not new, but is leaps on bounds better than anything else out there at the moment.

How thick will it be when you look at it?

Not thick at all.

Cannot understand this mentality when you'll be wearing the device.....

In my experience thick watches are not comfortable to wear. On top of that they often look ugly, like this one.

Whatever happened to sapphire glass hype for the iPhone 6? Or, is it just for the iWatch like predicted?

It's not the price that bothers me; my concern is why it is so useless for fitness. AFAIK, you need it connected to your iPhone. Wut? I want only one device when cycling.

You don't listen to music when you cycle? Sounds boring as fuck.

I was thinking this when they announced it. I don't cycle in spandex like some of you nuts but I ride my bike every day and it would be nice to just have the watch instead of stuffing my phone in a pocket or backpack.

Ill be upgrading my iPhone 5 to the iPhone 6. The PLUS is just a little too big for me. I have the iPad mini so really dont need a bigger phone. I will be getting the Apple watch since I like to use a lot of fitness apps when running, it will be a nice addon to check my time instead of having to dig in my pocket. I like the 128gb hard drive, more music for me.

Apple haters will always be there. I like how easy apple products are to use, I just use the phone as a phone/ipod. if I was into customizing I would go with windows or android.

I sometimes run distance and most of the time I run lap times, all of which I do not listen to music. If I did it would screw with my pace too much, its actually quite drastic. When I run with other people to improve times I listen to music as I'm not really stressing my pace much and can go ahead and take my attention off.

Other wise its just me and my thoughts.

Ram and specs are completely irrelevant when it comes to Apple phones. If you look at the 5s, it has specs from a phone from 5 years ago, but still offers at its worst a smoother experience than any android phone I have ever touched.

Any decent multitasking or even browsing with some tabs is a pain on the iPhone. It chokes with several tabs open and browsing becomes painfully slow. I have no less than 30 tabs open at all times and frequently get up to 60, all loaded, no refresh needed, with instant switching between them even when I multitask in other programs. That is on a 3 years old 1 GB RAM Android phone. Which Apple phone or tablet is capable of that? Are they capable of keeping 5-10 tabs loaded after using other apps? With only Safari open?

Disappointed. No innovation, no 32 gb options (base should be 32 not 16). Guess I'm selling my iPhone 5 and going android. I see no reason to continue with apple.

I just opened 50 tabs in chrome on my 5s. Butter smooth. Either way if you think that android offers a smoother experience than IOS, I wont even bother arguing with you. Even the most hardened of android fanboy will still agree that IOS is just smoother.

I'm not overly thrilled or disappointed by the 6. I'm still going to give the HTC M8 Win 8 phone a try, but if it doesn't win me over I've got no problem coming back to iOS; probably the 64GB 6 Plus.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'm waiting to see if any WP phablets hit the market, if not then it's iOS for me.

If it's worth anything to you 2, the one m8 is hands down my favorite android phone. It's the only phone so far who's skin doesn't lag the hell out of it.

A wise man.

Good to know. I'm very interested to see how Win 8.1 works on the M8.

I road cycle, so YMMV, but wearing a watch got uncomfortable enough for me to quit doing it.

yes its smoother for single open app at a time or just navigate through the phone just that open/close a single app at time.... did you opened 50 tabs but which tabs? open blank tabs?, try to keep those 50 tabs open and still keep other apps open while multitasking and still be smooth.. sorry but no that not gonna happen.. i have a iphone 5S for work and a galaxy S4 for personal use and they are in different leagues seriously.. i can have the youtube mini thumb open with other about 25 tabs browsing in google chrome, with split screen with BBM chat with zombie wars in background farming waves (gaming) and downloading from :rolleyes:xvideos:rolleyes: and still be completely smooth.. (i do it always while reading [H]Forum in the nights..) i can't do the same in my iphone.. i just can't.. can you?..

If 1+1 was available on Verizon I would ditch apple and go that route. Until then iPhone 6 for me.

No. Because I would never need to do anything that stupid on a cellphone. Good on you though. Sounds like you are having a good experience with android.

I just don't get why the rear is ugly as sin. There's a technical reason for these hideous lines in the rear and sides, right?
