HUGE score on awesome SSD's.

I have the 1 TB one myself and it's amazing (960gb)

Wow! That's a great price! Was waiting for the 850's to come down in price but this is going to be hard to pass up.

#1 best alternative to the 850 Pro, imo. Can't beat this deal and a 10 year warranty, to boot!

Bought a couple of ultra fit thumb drives and an SD card.

It's too bad those usb 3.0 thumb drives are so tiny. I'd lose it for sure.

Such a damn shame Amazon was able to get away with charging sales tax on all of their orders. The extra $40 just kills it for me.

My state just got hit with tax this year. It was great while it lasted :/

^ @ Sales Tax guys, you can always contact other shops to see if they'll price match. At least it's more likely with other places than it is the other way around...

"Get away with"? You think Amazon WANTS to charge tax?

In many states like South Carolina you are required to to pay taxes on internet purchases. If the seller does not collect the tax at the time of sale you are required to report it on your state return and pay when you file.

yeah, everybody reports income from having a garage sale, too.

That's the law in virtually every state. It's called a use tax (as I recall). Almost nobody pays it.

Thanks OP. Picked up a flash drive. If they'd included CF, I probably would have bought a card or 2. If I didn't think prices are going to drop even more this fall, I'd have jumped on a the big SSD.

LOL yeah, Amazon spends millions a year in legal fees and lobbying efforts to avoid paying sales tax. They know its a huge competitive advantage against their B&M counterparts. I've already started making the transition away from Amazon though, and their recent Prime price hikes have made it much easier to shop elsewhere. BestBuy has a bunch of great loyalty programs and their new price match policy has won a lot of my business in the last few years. Newegg also has Shoprunner (free with Amex, or for those like me who were grandfathered in from free trials) which is as good or better than Prime and still does not charge sales tax for me.

Methinks aubsxc works for either the IRS or H&R Block...

Neither. But I do file returns for state and federal taxes every year, and have a basic understanding of the tax regulations that apply to my situation. Don't you file tax returns?

Dead deal? Or incorrect link? The title of the tab in my browser says "SanDisk Deal of the Day", but the page only shows me my recently viewed items.

Edit: Did a google search and the results I get back show deals only for flash cards and usb drives.

So you're that one guy that checks the "Yes" box when it asks you if you had any online or out-of-state purchases?

No. I'm saying that knowing the taxes your state imposes on you doesn't make you an IRS or H&R Block employee. Just as knowing what the posted speed limits are on the streets you drive on doesn't make you a law enforcement agent.
