CNN Technology Analyst Thinks 4chan Is A Person

Context. She asks him "Who is this 4chan guy", and he answers "he is bla bla". So either he completely ignored her, or he's retarded, or he's a retard and ignored her. ;)

I honestly think he pretty much ignored her and went ahead with the best answer possible, given that he had to dumb it down enough for non-tech viewers (think: grandparents).

As an IT guy I often find myself doing desperate verbal gymnastics to penetrate the minds of people who think that computers are magical boxes.

I still don't think that guy actually confused 4chan with an individual.

Yea i'm going to go with the rational few. He never specified 4chan was a singular individual. The anchor lady went into it with a whammy double question.

Also, I don't see how this guy is in the wrong here. Yea he's talking generalities, but when you work in the IT world, you learn very quickly who "talks and understands technical talk, and who wants 'executive summaries.'" It's knowing your audience 101, and I think those of us who do work in IT should learn quickly. Yea sure it's decimating misleading info as fact to an unwitting populous... but... that's what CNN/Fox/every mainstream news outlet does.

Will more ram make my cpu faster?

Will a lower refresh rate increase my fps?

Can someone please point out at what point in the video he indicates that he believes that 4chan is an individual? He refers to "he" as in the hacker, but I don't see anything that indicates "he = 4chan = individual".

Or is everyone ripping him because the title of this article suggests to do so, and everyone is just following the herd?

I'm gonna go with following the herd. It's easier not to think for yourself, after all. :D

Video sucked, but some of the Youtube comments are hilarious (like the $ guys)
