If anyone has any questions on our new boards, go ahead and ask away and i will do my best to respond!

The Gaming 9 and the XPOWER are a toss up for me - they both look like something I want to use - also the delid guard pr slide from the deck that has been posted places - was that pre-emptive marketing before it was confirmed that they are indeed soldered, or are they supplied with the XPower for the brave ones ?

Eugine,

Is there a comparison for the boards mentioned (the X99 ones), not sure of the differences or the one that would be best for me. The X99S SLI PLUS looks good to me and the price at the Egg is actually seems almost too good. Anyways a breakdown what the boards are tailored for would be most helpful.

Hey a MSI rep, very nice. I'm thinking about them for my next build, I've never used them before. These new X99 boards look nice.

Will there be a X99 version of the Big Bang Xpower or is the X99S Xpower AC the successor?

I too would like to know the answer to this question.

Eugene?

"Big Bang" was ended two weeks before the Z77 launch so you won't be seeing one. XPower will be the top end from now on :) - at least until the next change that is...

Fun fact* as Big Bang was ended two weeks prior to Z77 launch bbut you could find the branding on the MPOWER heatsink was still there, but was never advertised as such :)

The all-black X99S SLI Plus is beautiful.

I wish there were more high-end boards that didn't look like something from Power Rangers. The gold stuff from Asus is particularly bad.

do all the MSI x99 boards have at least one m.2 slot that runs at PCIE 3.0 4x speeds?

and do they have an associated SATA Express slots that runs at the same speed?

I bought my first MSI product about 3 weeks ago. The MSI Z97 PC Mate.

That board has just been awesome so far. Looking forward to trying other MSI products.

Hmm, an active MSI rep here would be contributing factor in me buying an MSI X99 mobo, I'm leaning towards ASUS's offerings, the Rampage V Extreme in particular (though I'm put off by it's price a little), but could be swayed if the reviews are good and Eugene comes back and stays active. He kinda just checked in on Friday and immediately peaced out.

Well MSI can give HardOCP some motherboards to test. Yes the all-black X99S SLI Plus is awesome in appearance! Did find one review with this board and they got the 5960 to 4.6ghz, like to see HardOCP do the review though since their results I think is more accurate, better OCing know how and with stability paramount before posting numbers.

A X99s SLI, 5920K and 16gb of 2800mhz ram would be one hell of a rig and the price in the end not that much higher over the I7-4970K system!

What's the high end model of the 5?the game 9 AC or the overclocker version?

I wonder when motherboards are going to return to looking like motherboards as opposed to toys. Am I the only one sick of all these riced up boards? I see now MSI has even taken to plagiarizing Asus' horrible "five-year-old takes a hacksaw to a slab of aluminium" design for it's 'heatsinks'.

This X99 generation is producing the cheapest/tackiest looking high end boards I've ever seen, from all manufacturers.

They're not as bad as the X79/Z87 boards. The ASUS boards with the gold heatsinks are particularly tacky. The Chinese have no taste, everything either looks like something out of Power Rangers or has to be blinged out in gold.

I don't see anything wrong with the shape of that heatsink, as long as it's not gold or neon colored and it's not a dumb logo they don't bother me. I think the black color scheme is a step in the right direction.

Here a other one that would like to know that.

And if it comes, do you know if it has Thunderbold?, as i would like to make a 10Gbit cross connection with my server, as 1Gbit network is so yesterday. ;)

What would you prefer, a flat black slab? Compared to most boards, these are very plain. They look fine. Besides, do you buy your motherboard to look at, or to run stuff on?

I already answered the question about Big Bang earlier in this thread - the XPower is the top of the line now.... See earlier post for an explanation why :)
