That's what I see too, but wasn't sure because that picture was posted to show the high quality of the monitors, but I see the opposite.:( Maybe the owner run them in 1920x1080 resolution to maintain playable FPS?

Also, it just not possible to tell anything about the viewing angles judging by that photo....

Thank you very much for that stock number!

The guy on the phone was able to locate it immediately and was surprised I had that number considering it doesn't even come up on Fry's website using that number. They just came off the truck this morning and only had three in stock here in Houston.

I have one on hold in will call but can't decide if I want to pay sales tax or just order it from Newegg when they show up on the site. Decisions.
 
Two 780ti 's get around 100fps average on a single 2560x resolution monitor on most of the more demanding modern games on ultra.
Nvidia's scaling past two cards isn't that great either, even for the few people willing to go past two high end cards budget wise, sticking with nvidia for g-sync/ulmb mode..
So even on a niche high end expensive gaming monitor you are talking about an even more niche group. Of course you could run low fps and/or lower settings, or play any number of easier to render games in triple portrait but overall it doesn't seem very reasonable, even for considerable gpu budgets, for most at that rez even if it weren't for the TN shift.

That is also a configuration that doesn't really do much for immersion, rather adds a lot of pixel density to the scene.
I am looking forward to the oculus rift however as far as surround gaming for immersion goes even if it's first iterations are a lower resolution .LLL mode triple monitor can add a lot of immersion in the right configuration too for that matter.

I realize that PPP triple monitor is important to a few people but I can't really see it warranting knocking this monitor for that all other things considered.
 
For those of you that missed the boat the monitor has already sold out on newegg. Preorders filled up within like 5min. I got one but not sure if anyone else here managed to in time.

newegg's pixel/return policy isn't as good as amazon's. I also have prime so I'm prob going to wait it out.

I'd actually consider ordering it from bestbuy for even easier returns to brick and mortar.
 
True but the monitor has a warranty anyways so it should not really matter. Not as though there is actually inventory to exchange it quickly with.

No offense taken, they fucking suck. Yes they are two seconds away from me dragging my FW900 out of retirement and just buying a 1080p projector and PS4 + NHL15 with the money they were gonna get from my swift purchase.
 
I kind of figured we'd start seeing this monitor online tomorrow for sale. Seeing as NewEgg has a price and date on there now loosely confirms my suspicions :)
Now to fight the urge to order one as soon as I can......

Also just noticed NewEgg has it listed ON SALE for $799, normal price $899 lol.
 
I think that those who got in on a NewEgg "preorder" today did so as a result of great timing. The product went from "unavailable" to "available" and then to "auto-notify" with a release date in a span of minutes. My guess is that it's the nature of their system which requires that sequence, and some lucky few get in on the action in that span of time. I'm still holding out hope that the real release is tomorrow.

Just an assumption, of course.

I just spoke with a CSR from Newegg and they have 0 info on availability despite the 26th being stated on the product page.
They have 0 units on hand according to their system.
They have no ETA on incoming units.
They said only 7 units were preordered.

I think this was an error on the page, or the US/NA is really getting dicked on quantities. A retailer in the UK has received and sold over 200-300 units now I believe. There is no way that the Newegg allotment was 7 units. Either the CSR is wrong, or this is a joke.
 
Seven preorders sounds like bull shit. In the thread over at OCN there are more than 7 who posted pre order confirmation times already.

If there is not enough on hand to keep this thing "in stock" tomorrow for at least 15-20 minutes then Asus and Newegg can both go to hell :( Seriously, we waited EIGHT months to get this kind of shit treatment! They are about to take the crown of WORST PRODUCT LAUNCH EVER away from Nintendo and the N64!

Anyway you can briefly see in the Linus video running portrait, it looks OK from the very brief shot that you see but its hardly enough evidence for someone to splash out on three. Guess you will have to keep your eyes peeled around the interwebs for people with the same ambitions and deep pockets.

What jacks me off more than that is the fact that people have been walking into Fry's since the weekend and buying these and newegg just had pre orders for 5 minutes?????

I dont have a frys anywhere near me.......

Yeah now they are saying it was 7 for the .ca site, not .com. The .ca still had and active preorder tab when the CSR linked me.
 
I was not auto-notified as promised! I'd like a refund. Of all my past newegg purchases.
 
Now now now. Its going live now. Just got an order from Tigerdirect and Neweggs CSR claims the same 149 units going up.

I was able to order from TD on Saturday. Dealing with their Order Verification unit now, because apparently the info I provided wasn't good enough. =/
 
got one at tiger as well, shipping is slow and cost 25 bucks, but i dont wanna complain since it was so hard to get anyways lol. hopefully that 2-6 days is more like 2-3. thanks for the info guys

Dude get out while you can. Tiger direct doesn't actually have any in stock. They are coming from a third party and TD doesn't know when they are coming. I cancelled mine today.

This is what it says on the order tracker for TD:

Order Status:To Drop Shipper - Your order is being submitted to a third-party warehouse for fulfillment and delivery. You will receive a Shipping Confirmation email once it ships.

Here is hoping that where ever they are coming from is efficient. If not at least I got my order in for a unit that should be available, and not have to wait 2 months for another friggen asus boat to putt putt across the ocean.
 
It's not up on tigerdirect.ca yet unfortunately for us Canadians. It's listed on NCIX, but they aren't sharing when they will have stock. Currently listed as Sep 15, which I sincerely hope is wrong.
