LEDs can cause blindness

Your getting information from a site thats for a company that's trying to sell things to prevent health concerns with technology?

Uh, yeah, LED's are capable of cranking out an insane amount of brightness. Of course they can make you go blind. What's your point?

I wouldn't be surprised as manufacturers of displays continue to try to out-do one another, that they will continue to make displays brighter and brighter just to have better numbers on their specs sheets for marketing.

In the end, it's up to you the user to have some common sense and not run your display at its max retina-searing capability.

*shrug*

I, for one, can tell that the "start up" screen for my Auria display is like this:

On the rare occasions I will bear witness to it, I just look away or close my eyes until the retina-seering light has passed.

I'd say that 100 years of led screen use will make almost 100% anyone blind. Er, dead. Er, don't mind minor details. :)
BTW, you guys already have cactus near monitor, to protect against radiation? :)

Interesting, but I guess it makes sense. Kind of like those old toys in the 90s and earlier that would be way too loud for your hearing. Like for example, some old sesame street telephone that produced around 100 db of noise. And would have your kids hold the thing TO THEIR EARS! while they played with it. At least, I think it was a sesame street phone.

Yea and I also wear velcro straps with magnets in them across my entire body to harmonize my chi with the emanations of the crystalline life-force of Gaia  :p

You guys don't wear sunglasses at your computer? I thought that was just common sense.

And be sure to often exchange to fresh one tinfoil hat. They wear out under attacks.

I always read the "About us" section first and this is why:

"Harry Lehmann is the inventor and visionary of the Green Swan patent line. His many years working as a civil trial attorney honed his observations around the creation of potential new helpful product possibilities. "

take it easy dudes you are behaving like i snatched your candy bars right out of your mouths.

you can ignore this and move on if you dont like it. quit acting like toddlers... or maybe go on...
im rather enjoying this ROFL

you sir seem to be a closet chi-man what with that vocabulary! come out in the open now now dont be shy....;)

Millions and millions of LED displays have been sold, so where are all the blind people?

Ah, another one of these inventive attorneys. Pretty sure he'll more than make up for his lack of business success with patent litigation.

No no, he fights for health of us common folks! Some class action suit to all led vendors to create extra tax on their products to follow .. :)

I think people are acting pretty normally in response to you and crap like this. You post something that is, well, bullshit to put it mildly and say "What do you think?" People tell you they think it is crap, you argue the point, they argue back. Now suddenly you don't seem to want people to comment you want people to "ignore this and move on".

So either you were trolling for responses and are now trying to play the "lol y so serious" card or you genuinely believe this tripe and figured you'd just get a love in of people agreeing with you and/or thanking you for posting it.

Well, given that and given you responses, you shouldn't be surprised that people are taking quite a negative reaction to you. You also can't pretend like people should just "ignore this and move on" when your first statement was an elicitation for response name "what do you guys think?"

People told you what they think, you just don't like hearing it. Too bad. This is a forum, where people get to discuss things on an equal plane, not a soap box, where you get to say something and nobody can respond.

You started a thread making a claim based on 1 site. Yes, it is up to you to provide proof or why you think that 1 site is true.

never made any claims. just threw it out for open debate and consideration of the intelligent members here.

same as above. never made any claims.

florescent is twice as bad
I agree. I would turn all the lights off in my office if I could to just use the natural light coming in through the windows. One of my coworkers actually complains that it is too dark with all the lights. Flourescent lights are the bane of my desk job :(.

Blindness is a bit of a stretch and the articles claim of LED causing paintings to fade has been debunked on numerous websites.

I do believe LED can cause eye strain if you don't keep the brightness in check which I would imagine isn't good for eye health, when I switched from CRT to LCD I started experiencing eye strain which wasn't something I had a problem with before, but after enabling the auto brightness light sensor feature on LCD my eye strain issues went away. (Samsung PX2370 LED).

LEDs maybe not causing blindness but crappy TN colors surely do
all the people who use those panels are the proof !!!

you guys don't have anti-radiation filters hanging over your LCD monitors, do you?

:D

PX2370 (TN) tested at 2.3 Delta E with factory settings which isn't bad for an out of box reading, Plus it only has 2ms Input lag vs. a CRT! Works for me.

the danger is more from the backlight than panel tech tn or ips.. but yes lots of things cause eye fatigue or general frustration in use.

It was a joke. "You'd have to be blind to use a TN monitor". Get it?
