This is what happens when you install or attempt to install a Gigabyte GA-7PESH3 Server/Workstation motherboard in the Supermicro SC747TQ-R1400B server case. For starters the board does fit and is compatible with the case as far as form factor goes. However, the front panel header on the Gigabyte GA-7PESH3 board is not compatible with the connector because the pin layouts are entirely different and even if it won't short out the board it probably won't turn on either. I was skeptical about whether I could get this to work all along because I was thinking I could just crimp a 16-pin male connector to connect to the original 16-pin female that's in the case with a 16-pin ribbon cable to a 20-pin female connector on the end that connects to the board and just lose some of the pins along with some of the motherboards functionality that could be sacrificed. Also in an effort to get the board to work with the bare essentials, such as the power switch and maybe the hard drive LED. However, once I came to my senses I realized it was going to work for the reason stated above and never even bothered crimping the cable or turning it on. Then I parted out the system by removing the board, which was the only thing I had installed and didn't bother installing the other components. I'm keeping the board and I listed the case for sale should you happen to find it and be interested. Also keep in mind that I did call Gigabyte to ask them if the board was compatible with the case and they said any case that is compatible with EATX/SSI EEB motherboard will work, which is not the case and if you check there site under overview for compatible accessories you'll see the compatible Chenbro cases.
The case with the board installed can be seen here:
