Have you guys seen this game yet? I like the way they are stripping away all the B.S. that has been added to games over the last decade or so. Your thoughts?
 
Looks like a mix of halo and unreal tournament.

Oddly enough, the one part I liked most was the "No Free to Play"
 
Looks like a new UT. I might play it if it is good. It would be ironic if it used UE4.
 
I like this A LOT. They really have killed a lot of shooters out there with all the BS. When I had to unlock shit in BF3 in order to use it... I was seriously annoyed. I wanted to hop in, pick my gun and go shoot people in a rock paper scissors balancing. Balance is what makes FPS'.

I'm definitely buying this if it plays like it looks.
 
I'd be interested to see the full weapon selection. That video was very rocket-heavy. Rockets are nice sometimes, but I'm not much of a rocket player overall.
 
I see alot of Quake, Halo, and Unreal influence ;).

I will buy this if for no other reason than it smacks the call-of-duty crowd in the face ;).
 
Are they trying to sound all hip and crap with two Ks in the game title? :p
 
My first thought before watching the video...sounds like Quake 3 Areana/QuakeLive.

After watching the video, Quake 3 Arena set in the Halo Universe.
 
It gave me those Tribes feels. Did it say no reloading? That seems a little dumb to me.
 
The only issue I foresee is that this game might play like it's 1999, but I won't.

I'm an old man now.

My hands are used for hammers and saws now, not fast, accurate fragging.

I still have my Ratpad though!
 
The real question is if they will release the server code so a solid modding community can start. That's what made Quake so damn good.
 
it looks like UT mixed with Halo. Sounds like fun and definitely worth $45 for the 4 pack.

I've been playing Brutal Doom 0.19 alot lately. Easy to set up and get working if you have a copy of original doom on steam. The mod works on all the expansions, and doom2 as well. So just mod up final doom on steam (you also need zandronum) and off you go.

unzip the brutal doom into the doom/final doom game folder in the proper places.
install zandronum, copy zandronum.exe to the doom folder, rename dosbox.exe to dosbox.off, rename zandronum.exe to dosbox.exe. Launch the game from steam!
Also recommend the music pack, much better audio makes it like a new game. The above are on moddb.com , zandronum is on its own site.

You gain new death animations, better music, mouse look including looking up and down, jump, duck, kick. It's fun.
 
Finally someone is bringing back a more pure shooter.:D I'm doing the Godlike funding so can host my own maps. Started on ROTT (Rise of the Triad) network version, Quake, Doom, and all version of Unreal. Great LAN parties back in the day.

I took that to mean no reload animation and no hitting a key to reload. Shoot until you run out of ammo, and walk over ammo so you can keep shooting.

If you are referring to how you couldn't reload in tribes... You could still pick up ammo or loot dead bodies. I didn't see that in the trailer, so that's what I meant. SHAZBOTS!
 
When I saw the thread title on frontpage hardforum.com I thought this thread was about a school shooting or mall rampage or something.
 
Looks like another Unreal Tournament. I'm too old for that kind of pace :(
 
Looks like crap.

Okay, let me fill these developers in. There is NO REASON to play these games if there is no story. Without story and identifiable characters, there is no investment and no reason to bother.
 
Looks like a day-one-buy for me. On one contingency: Instagib....
 
Looks boring....sorry takes a lot to get to me =) yeah it does look like Halo Destiny should of been more like this.
